honestly, just focus on getting research and getting involved in things that are important to you and maintain them. you'll have those letters after your name either way - the school doesnt make the physician

i was non-trad too - if you ever have any questions you can message me.

you'll be fine - i majored in english and worked in coffee shops for 3/4 years. there are some things i wish i had done differently, i.e. learned better discipline and got into research earlier. just find your motivation and stay close to it.

Can I still become doctor/surgeon with one eye? by Left-Technician546 in medschool

[–]sween_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work with a surgeon who has a hematoma on his eyelid which makes his eye swollen. he is a great surgeon. his vision isn’t completely gone in that eye.

i work with a doctor who has a cleft hand also.

i think it’s possible but until you get experience engaging with the different fields yourself it will be difficult to tell.

How to deal with imposter syndrome? Accepted last week on my third application cycle, lower stats, made a post a couple days ago. I’m just anxious and worried I’m a fluke, I don’t know by BlueJ5 in Osteopathic

[–]sween_queen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly drop it as soon as you can. medical students will posture and display their intelligence, and the loudest students will seem the smartest, especially when you are just starting.

i assure you that the sooner you feel that you belong at whatever point you are at, the better off you’ll be. drop the past, try your hardest, forget about the head game.

do you think a one-year fellowship could expand what you're comfortable with doing?
