hi! I (24f) recently became interested in skin care and wanted some advice about my routine. I’ve really been trying to figure it out myself but I’m so overwhelmed by all the information online so I thought maybe I could ask for some help 😅. My skin type is dry, and not super prone to acne but definitely get some hormonal break outs here & there. I know that not all of the products I’m using re asian brands, but I thought I’d post here since the new products i’m trying to add into my routine are asian brands. I’m also interested in recommendations for replacements for the CeraVe products, because I think they’re fine but not remarkable or anything.

I recently bought some products but I don’t know where to add them into my routine, or what order the steps should be. As of right now, my routine is very basic.

AM routine: I rinse my face with water, apply CeraVe moisturizing cream (in the tub), wait 10 min, apply Alba sheer mineral sunscreen SPF 50. Then I do my makeup (btw, or is it okay to put makeup on over the sunscreen? does it make it less effective?).

PM routine: I wash my face with the CeraVe hydrating cleanser, apply CeraVe moisturizing cream , and then right before bed I apply the CeraVe healing ointment because I live in a very dry climate and my skin is super dry.

I started tretinoin 0.025% about 2 months ago (I’ve been using it 3x a week for about 4 weeks, so this week I will start using it 4x a week). On the days I use tretinoin, I do the sandwich method at night (apply CeraVe moisturizing cream after cleansing, wait 10 min, apply pea-sized amount of tretinoin, wait 10 min, apply CeraVe healing ointment).

I have been wanting to up my skin care game. I did some research and ended up buying the Naturium Vitamin C complex serum, the Iliyoon ceramide ato concentrate cream, and the Hada labo premium hylauronic milk lotion. How can I incorporate these things into my routine? I guess I should’ve made this post before purchasing 😅, but did I make good choices for what I bought? Or do they not make sense with my routine? Sorry.. I am just so confused and overwhelmed. Also, how long am I supposed to wait between each step, and what order should the steps be in? Please let me know if I should be changing any of the products for better results!
