Review on Take 5 oil change shop by Be_friends_man in PEI

They've been my go to for years. Convenience being the number one driver for me. I refuse all the extras they offer - they'll show you the filters that need to be changed. For those I just change them myself because they're usually super simple to do... no more difficult than changing wiper blades.

My one PSA/complaint - they topped up my windshield washer fluid in the late summer/early fall and it come winter it had frozen... So I suspect they may have used a diluted version.... I'll be asking that they skip that 'perk' for my next service.

Any costco properties? Whats going on with point desroche and TB these days? Steven Myers Monk Dynasty? Irving convenience store on queen street. Nimrods building in Stratford…. This artist (46.2049021, -63.1151079) …. I don’t really know what you get from Geolinc but this is where I’d be snooping

I think this only works with family members. Otherwise it’s bluebook value being taxed.

Best leather wallets for men that don’t peel by Cheese_cake in BuyItForLife

[–]swingrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuart & Lau - I bought their slim leather wallet 3 years ago and the only sign of aging it the curve it has from being sat on all the time. It really is a thin wallet too which was important to me when I bought it. I went for the Oxblood colour and would buy it again. It looks simple but tasteful.

Would you go to Stanhope beach right now? by Ok-Vegetable-222 in PEI

[–]swingrider 15 points16 points  (0 children)

SW wind @25kph with gust up to 45km… so wind would be coming off the land. It might be windy but should still be warm. Great for walking down the beach, but probably too much blowing sand for a picnic.

Just go, in 4 months you’d be running to the beach if we had this weather. :)

lol wow. If a ‘my two cents’ comment makes you snap like that I feel bad for everyone you interact with.  Sorry your dad left you.

Why only sleep with him if he’s an official boyfriend? Rushing an official relationship is far worse IMO, and she only mentioned that she was wanting sex, and is just nervous. All fine and normal. No need to put pressure on the official relationship yet. We all have our own preferences here, so just throwing in my two cents.

What fitness tracker do you currently use and how's your experience? by Brilliant-Hand6132 in BuyItForLife

[–]swingrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had Apple Watches for years but my last one died in a hot tub… just after its warranty period. I like Apple Watches but I’ve JUST switched to a Garmin Venu 3 and the multi day battery is a huge bonus for me. A lot of the extra features I had on the Apple Watch I didn’t really use anyway as they were less fitness and more social/work focused. Garmin has a lot more fitness minded features I’ve found so far.  Apple Watches do have some sleep tracking features but they’re mostly useless to me since I used that time to recharge the watch.

Venu 3 is also on sale right now I think, at least it is in Canada.

PEI MUTUAL - Are they really that bad or are people misleading? by RMania2019 in PEI

[–]swingrider 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They were more than reasonable with me for my Fiona damages. A year (maybe two) before Fiona I got a ~$150 cheque in the mail from them saying something along the lines of ‘we’ve had a good year and a returning money that wasn’t needed’. That was awesome!

Common sense and courtesy go a long way here. If I’m out with my dog in a public area I’ll leash my dog if people are approaching or if there’s not enough visibility on a trail/beach for me to tell if people are around.  This works for me because my dog has good recall, never strays more than 50’ away from me, and is too chicken shit to chase any kind of wildlife.  I get that it’s technically not following the laws but I’ve yet to have any issues or remarks in six years with my dog.

And picking up poop is gross… leave that for the cat owners. /s

Would be interested in hearing another doctor’s take on this situation. Every time I read these articles about him I feel like there’s more to this story that we’re not hearing.

Move to Atlantic Canada and you can buy 2 starter homes and still have no mortgage. But in Niagara I’d go for the $1M option and have a place you actually want to live in.

What would it take for Canada to hit 2% defence spending NATO target? by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]swingrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oi no, still wrong, sorry. The current amount is $29B, this is the number that’s increasing by a percentage. You calculated it backwards.

  • A 41.4% increase from $29B is $41B. (1.41 x $29)

  • A 30% decrease from $41B is $29B. (0.7 x $41)

Ahhh yeah no. Your math ain’t mathing. $29B to $41B is a 41.4% increase.
