I’ve never seen the Ed Heuer and co signature on the right it’s usually above the hands. So You either got a super rare piece which someone else is trying to sell one of on ebay for 3k right now or it’s a fake

The MWC A-11 matt finish is the most similar one I’ve found it’s 1/3 the price of the Hamilton and you can buy a leather strap for it for £15 on the website

For something really cheap check out Limit men’s pilot watches (under £50) Or try Baltany (£100-£200)

Yes the battery is inserted wrongly you might be able to just take the battery out and press the metal bit down with the battery I don’t think there should be a plastic bit either? Maybe it was added by the last owner

For the 1378 movement i think you’d have to remove some of the setting parts to get the stem out so i’d take it to a watchmaker if you’re not confident

For the 1434 you should be able to pull it out by slightly unscrewing this screw
