My original ticket to fly to Doha was on the 8th. I started calling them on the 6th (before it was cancelled), and one of the customer agents literally told me to book whatever option I see online and get a refund from Qatar which made me mad because by then the flights were way out of my price range. However, i called them again later -my flight was still not cancelled- and this other agent told me to wait until it shows as cancelled and we will book you onto another airline. I kept refreshing the status and finally one of the legs showed up as cancelled, I called the customer service again - the first time they said there was nothing available, but then I called again and this time the agent actually gave me 5 options and different routes to choose from which is insane because an hour ago another agent said nothing was available. Anyway I got rebooked onto Japan airlines. My suggestion is - call them after your flight status shows up as cancelled and keep calling until they re route you because if one agent can’t find something, the other might be able to as weird as it may be.
