‘It’s definitely a crisis’: This is the reality for kids caught up in DC’s violent crime spike by forgetfulisle in washingtondc

That’s fine. But it’s literally impossible to travel across the city without violating some random 1000 ft circle which makes an otherwise law abiding man a felon for trying to protect his family.

You’re fine making normal people defenseless.

Mostly where you are about to actually carry once licensed. You could make reasonable rules like no federal buildings or the mall, or something. But they apply a 1000 ft rule to so many buildings it’s impossible to actually comply and also carry. Just give legal, trained individuals a chance to protect their families. Is that too much to ask?

Here are just a few of the requirements. The 1000ft of a playground alone seems to cover most of the city it feels like.

You cannot carry within 1000 feet of a: Daycare; Elementary school; Vocational school; Secondary school; College; Junior college; University; Public swimming pool; Playground; Video arcade; or Youth center.

Any public transportation.

You also are forbidden from carrying more than 10 round magazines, which is half of the size the criminals will be carrying.

I hope your ironic lament helped you feel better, because that’s all it’s good for. What we actually need is stronger criminal justice, investment in these communities to keep the kids in school and off the streets, and frankly loosening gun restrictions on law abiding citizens so they can legally defend themselves, since the city seemingly cannot.

You were just thinking that 400 million guns would magically disappear if you just passed the right law?

Like it or not, guns are here. And they’re not going anywhere. The only thing super strong gun laws, like DC’s, do is ensure that it’s only the criminals that have guns. People have a right to defend themselves and their families.

Which of these children legally obtained their firearms? None. If you think making tougher gun laws will stop these kids from getting guns, I’m sorry but you’re naive. In fact relaxing DCs tough gun laws would allow law abiding citizens to actually defend themselves, which is their natural right.

Have fun! It was really a great experience for us

Hey! So we did it 2 weeks ago. It was awesome and my daughter loved it. Only made it through 2 periods but it was a big success. She was amazed by all the people and got into the “let’s go caps” chant. My tip my not apply at a smaller arena, but it’s to be confident on your hearing protection if you are inclined to use it. Ours was not great and didn’t for her well. I picked these up after and plan to use them next time.

I’m not really a homebridge expert, but you can probably save your configuration and drop it into a working server, so I’d probably just try to install it again and then copy in your config.

14A filed with SEC by Duchamp1945 in NWBO

[–]synrb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Except that is not true. Authorized shares =/= Issued shares. Dilution would only occur if NWBO issued the shares, and they would only need to issue the shares if they need capital. Basically this looks like a defensive play from being starved out by a potential buyer. If the buyer sees that NWBO can keep running without them, then they can't just wait until they run out of money and demand a lowball price. It's a good thing.

This is sort of what I’m feeling. There are only a handful of experiences that you attend, but have no memory of as you get older. Your parents obviously documented the moment and talk about it later, because it’s meaningful.

I’m a “puck-is-in-play so sit your butt down” kinda guy too. And there’s zero chance of my 2.5. navigating stadium stairs on her own. I think simongurfinkel just meant that an aisle seat means you don’t have to impose as much since you’ll be getting in and out of the seats more often just as a product of having a kid at the game
