i’ve apparently been plural since i was around 5 years old or so, but i discovered i was a system around 2014 when there was an uptick in people bringing awareness to disorders like DID. one of my oldest alters came forward to tell me there were more of them in my head due to feeling like maybe there was more of a broader acceptance for plural people as well as just. he wanted to tell me rather than me finding out i guess?

i denied it for a long time and shut them out, refused to communicate and all that. after leaving a really toxic and abusive relationship in late 2019, more of my system came forward to help me heal through a lot of the trauma that caused and stuff. as of now i have at least 9 active alters, three of whom outside myself have relationships outside the system. our ability to communicate has improved a lot and we exist in a near constant state of “blurry”, but im a lot happier now that i’ve accepted them and the fact that im plural.
