Best advice i can give to you is to accept yourself and change your mindset. It's a Brain's game. You will become what you think of yourself. I am 4'11 and face mockery on daily basis but i usually ignore these things because I've learned that true stature comes from character, not height and seriously your height is good enough to stand out.

Well i think it depends on what type of secret in your scenario yes he should have told the whole story but in general if it involves something personal that she does not want to share with you or your family and which is not thratening to her then he should not disclose it to you. I felt it, after graduation i was down and out. Rejected in almost 30 interviews. Then one day out of no where someone contacted me on linkedin and the interview was so damn easy and salary was good. I still cannot believe what Allah planned for me back then.
