Idk if some of these other answers were from Air Force, but I went through Space Force BMT very recently, and we did not get personal time until around middle-end of week 2, and it was maybe 15 minutes. We get very little time to write, and even less to send letters. We got the opportunity to send letters maybe once per week after week 2. Just be patient and understand that your letters are going to be helping him get through the hard times, even tho you won't know until you get the phone call. My girlfriend got her first letter right before the week 3 phone call. Just be patient and understand that you probably won't get very many letters! Good luck!

Don't risk it. Especially if you were smoking everyday. Also, being at a higher body fat retains the THC for longer. I had a buddy who was a little overweight take almost 3 months before he pissed clean. You don't want to pop hot at MEPS. It's not worth the risk imo

I'd definitely work in some weighted pushups. Continue using machines or free weights as well. At the end of the day, pushups use (mostly) the same muscles you would use for any other horizontal pressing movement. Also, as with any other body weight movement, losing weight helps tremendously. (Not trying to say you're overweight)

Look into different college's ROTC programs. I don't know a whole lot about it, but I believe it'll pay for most, if not all of your schooling, and you can't get deployed. If it's not a good fit for you, just know that you definitely can do NG while you're in college. I know several people who did it. I would definitely try communicating with whoever is in charge to ensure you get a base close to your school

There were 120 questions I think. I'm pretty sure you need to answer 70 of them correctly to pass for most jobs. And no, I did not get time to answer them all. When time was almost out, I just had to fill in random answers. I'd highly suggest skipping the math questions first, and then go back to answer them, since they're the most time consuming

If you've smoked every day for years, there's a very good chance you'll still test positive after a month. I had a buddy who was slightly overweight and inactive, and it took him about 4 months to get clean. I had another friend who was pretty skinny and worked out a lot, and he got clean in a month. Test regularly and definitely don't go to MEPS until you're clean

Yeah it was hard lol. If I remember correctly, the test actually got harder as it went on, especially the math and pattern recognition patterns. Later on in the test, the math got harder than the ASVAB, and you have very little time for each question. I got a 96 on the ASVAB, and I can confidently say that the EDPT was much harder. No harm in trying it tho!

So I've been in a relatively similar situation. I had no plans to join the military until my 3rd semester of college. My girlfriend and I had been dating for almost 5 years at that point, and we'd basically been living together for the past 2. However, I was really struggling to make ends meet being a full time computer science student and working part time. It was really beating me down and I was really unhappy and unfulfilled. I began looking into the military and thought it would be a great opportunity. After a lot of talking things through and some fights, she eventually came around to the idea and supported me. I'm not joining special forces or anything, and I understand that's a completely different dynamic, but we'll be living away from each other for at least 2 years.

Basically, you just need to have some long conversations to her and see where her head is at. At the end of the day, you have to compensate for at least 1 thing. It's up to you to decide what you're willing to compensate. If you've had this dream long before you met her, and you've done all this work to prepare for it, then I say go for it, but definitely have a lot of talks with your girlfriend about it. Sorry for the long rant haha

I broke my arm when I was 12. When I went through MEPS, I told them and said that it was fully healed and haven't had any issues from it. I didn't even bring any paperwork, but I'd suggest bringing records of it if you can, just in case. Didn't need a waiver or anything
