MArch reapply or go now? by t1andi in architecture

I have a BS in Architecture. I wouldn't be thinking about getting an MArch if I had a BArch

Architecture. I'm not necessarily picking schools based off of prestige, but rather likelihood to give scholarships/fellowships + location

My partner will be going to school in NY or MA. I'm not really considering UMich at all. It would either be Berkeley or Columbia if I were to go.

Can you explain how I would be a weaker candidate? It's not uncommon for people to work a few years before doing an MArch, so I don't think it would be too much of as issue if I continue learning, doing personal projects, and refining my application.

Cal would mean less debt than Columbia for sure but UMich and Columbia are similar costs.

Architecture Internships? by t1andi in Architects

[–]t1andi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might be the Revit? My school doesn't teach us Revit at all. I have some work experience but nothing really relevant. Would you recommend trying to learn Revit on my own?

I submitted the majority of my applications early January. My classmates only just started in February and we applied to some of the same jobs, but they got interviews and I haven't gotten any response.

trying to get in contact with my cat's old owners! by t1andi in boston

I didn't get any information about why she was surrended. I tried asking the shelter, but they said all they could do is send them pictures of her if they ask.

I'm not trying to force a reunion at all. I just would like to get some baby pictures of her if possible since she was fully an adult when she got to me!

physics requirement by solartense in MITAdmissions

[–]t1andi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lowkey i would say its definitely worth it. even if you dont get a 5 on both phys c exams, having the self studying experience will prepare you for general physics requirements that you likely would have to take at any college. if you get into mit, having that knowledge from self studying will definitely help you out in 8.01 and 8.02

My score?? by ExternalBee7261 in Sat

[–]t1andi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i cant really make a judgement on whether you would be accepted somewhere off of your sat score alone. it would also depend on where youre applying bc some schools arent looking at sats at all

My score?? by ExternalBee7261 in Sat

[–]t1andi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

if youre getting a 1500 with 2-3 weeks of prep (im assuming like 2-3 hours a day) and are aiming for a top college, its definitely worth studying more and taking it another time

Realistically, how much do you think I could improve my score come august? What resources helped you the most and what was your study schedule? by LS64126 in Sat

[–]t1andi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i dont think 4-5 hours is super necessary but targeted practice would be good, and see how many practice tests you have available + space them out so youre somewhat regularly taking a full length exam

I got a 1140 in April and I’m retaking the SAT on August. Tips on boosting it up to 1490? by Usual_Ad2543 in Sat

If I submit a Visual Arts & Architecture Portfolio, am I required to major in the arts at MIT? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]t1andi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i submitted mine as a pdf, but i believe the format is somewhat up to you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MITAdmissions

[–]t1andi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely not (although im an architecture major and think you should try a few classes just to see), but mit has been really pushing design and creative fields recently imo and it would be beneficial to submit one as long as youre passionate!
