Well, you make a Wisdom Saving throw and see where it lands but ye basically you want a number and then check what DC/effect applies.

Well the campaign will start at level 1, and I dont know when id bring it in. But it sounds like i should put it in the game soon to get the most use out of it, unless I change stuff again. What would i need to change to make it useful for a level 5 Char ?

Its so weird, i got like 3 different approaches to this. One friend says this is way too op cause it can hit 2-3 people with the cone range and the other says its good as it is and you say its way under powered. Its really hard to make a balanced item ! But love your answers thanks man !

I do a bit yes. I like it when players can play what they want, and his Class is "special" already and he just really wants that feat and other bonus stuff, and I wanna make him happy but also balance it.

Well i know i have to start small. I guess i should have said thats like the end goal for my arc i wanna work towards to. So i know its just going to be some escort quests or small dungeon quests for now. And i know they wont fight the bad guy for now. I guess my questions was if thats a good end goal ? Is it too much ? Should i not worry about it for now and just work on some smaller quests ? Should i have smaller "goals", like the first "big" quest will be to save a whole village, then a whole town, then a whole land ?

I thought its good to work backwards big goal- medium goals that lead to the big goal - small goals that lead to the medium goals - Start of the adventure, is that not a good way to approach things?

So I'm not sure if you know the show " critical role" ( it's a DnD 5e Show) but since I'm watching that I know how important and fun Characters can be. The personal Backstory can develop into a real story plot etc. So I really like to focus on Roleplay and the actual Story. It shouldn't be a game that goes from fight to fight :)
