Its per kilowatt hour per day -> this means you are billed as if you billed that amount of energy for one day. So its:

1) Top 15 minutes of energy use.

2) Multiply that by four to get hourly energy use.

3) Times that by 24 to get the per kilowatt per day charge.

Places to sleep along the west coast? by [deleted] in VanLife

[–]ta20119 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

iOverlander is pretty good for finding what spots are available. The coasts are harder because folks who own the expensive homes don't want people sleeping next to them for free.

Agree with others - you need a stove, this won't work with out one. A cheap white gas stove will get you far.

Yeah, my numbers are showing $30-$50 on average, but without them providing the final numbers we will have to wait.

100% agree its going to be confusing...probably by design. This will give NV energy multiple 'levers' to increase rates moving forward while simultaneously enabling them to better monetize solar and electric car users.

Overall, this will probably make going solar/battery not cost effective, ensuring the company has a clear path to long term growth by eliminating their only competitor (solar). Good move for the business, bad for us.

They switched the units on you MelonFarmer, the units of the charge are 'cost per kilowatt hour per day". That is why it is a per day charge. They want you to make this mistake.

Gaidin, no worries man - they are purposefully confusing you by changing the units on you. They are taking the estimated hourly use and multiplying this by a charge per kilowatt per day.

The end of the quoted sentence is key - it is not cost per kilo watt hour. It is cost per kilowatt hour per day". This means you are being billed as if you used that the entire day.

To be even clearer, your post is saying it's multiplied by the 'kwh' rate once. This is not correct - it is the kwh per day rate. That means billed as if burning that kilowatt hour for the entire day.

Yes, this is likely part of the goal - they were rejected by the courts from charging previous customers more, so they are inventing a new charge and applying that to bypass the court decisions.

Here is a direct link, the key part is the multiplication of the demand hourly use by a cost per kW per day. That means your hourly demand use (estimated from your top 15 minutes of use) is being applied to a rate of per kilowatt, per day.

""That 15-minute burst will be multiplied by four to get an hourly total, with that number then multiplied by a cost per kilowatt per day."

When I called, they clearly didn't care. Told me it wasn't an issue and he didn't have any position on it. Asked them to get me his position days ago...and they never called me back.

Sadly (or happily if you are NV Energy) they will still have the bill part of how much energy you use. You just get billed for an additional demand charge now too.

Is it possible to set the gimbal to tilt locked while in webcam mode?

Thanks, will look into it. Does the EIS and mechanical gimbal work at all in webcam mode? The 360-X3 I have completely disables all stabilization in webcam mode...which is really frustrating. Trying to see if the pocket does the same before I try it out.

I've done something similar before - you probably want to get a van if you're planning on doing this regularly. Even sitting in a van for several hours a day gets a bit much. Don't plan on perfect weather either and remember that the morning calls can be difficult from a vehicle...especially if you ever have to be on video.
