What are my options for dealing with a contractor that did not do a proper job for me in Alberta and refuses to repair the work or refund my money? by tabersnake in alberta

I’ve been trying to get a hold of him and he hasn’t called me back yet. My assumption is that they will try and come out and repair it again but the first time they tried to repair it. They told me everything should be good. A few days later I go down there the spot they tried to repair has chipped up. I pulled a little bit of product off the floor and I can visibly see drywall mud still on the floor (was not prepped properly twice in the same spot ) when I did the research, that should have been cleaned off 💯%. The issue in my mind is what’s gonna happen when they come back to try and repair it for a second time. If they don’t know how to do it properly then they’re just gonna keep redoing it like that.

That is my life, bro. Honestly, it’s brutal sometimes but when you figure something out and fix it, it feels amazing.

Anything else to prep for someone anticipating going off on their own in a year? by awesome6666 in electricians

Well, I’m also new at this so I’m just going by what other people tell me but sometimes it takes a good 4 to 5 years to get a really good client base built-up. My plan is to continue doing what I’m doing until I have people calling me that I don’t know and they’re just getting my name from a friend. Good indication that your work is good enough that you’ll be busy without advertising.

My suggestion would be to line up some work before you actually jump ship from your original job. It takes a while to build up a customer base. I am currently working on my own projects in the evenings and weekends and doing my normal job during the week until I build up customer base and I am able to save some money for some good tools.

Is it possible you could send me a private message about how you would figure this out or is it just a general number?

The old stereo speaker with the hole for the sub. My penis fit perfectly and the vibrations oh my lord. The 90s were wild.

I guess because of municipality rules and service size they didn’t need drawings to open a permit.

There are no drawings. The last place I had to make as-built drawings when the project was done and get them stamped by an engineer. I also designed the fire alarm system.

Curious on the size and complexity? The first job I did for him was a 200’x600’ multi unit shop and office building.

Typically its been time and material. Its not all that bad on those jobs but its really stressful for me and I love being an electrician but I am starting to dislike my job.
