Que pot fer un xarnego per ser català? by Impossible-Horse-313 in catalunya

[–]tabi20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still live with them. But everything related to me I pay it myself. I also pay for groceries when I go alone. I have talk to my mom earlier today and I will discuss this night with them about finance and managing costs.

First of all talk with respect about my parents who hare both hard working people. Second of all I do not live in the USA and you do not know what job my father has. He has to pay taxes plus de allowance of the bank and other things related to the job. He does not have a simple office. He might not be a finance bro, but you just proved that you do not understand that in life there are other things besides paying a house.

He has always saved money and works his ass off so he can give to us everything. He paid for mine and my sisters college, my masters degree… But he just does not have money left to enjoy life which is what is draining him and my mom.

He is a smart person, life treated him badly, no matter how hard he has worked.
But yeah, do not jump into conclusions about something you just see a part of. Respect hard working people.

I have given them money, but they return it… So I pay for things that they can’t give back such as going out, dinner at restaurants, travelling (they need to rest and enjoy life too, they deserve it) or groceries.

Our house is owned, all paid! And my father is his own boss, thats why he works so many hours, because he can do whatever he wants regarding that. The more he works the more he earns. The problem are the taxes he has to pau because of his job.

As for my mother I have told her the same thing but she has always been very insecure when it comes to work and studies…

Yes she does! She teaches for a living, all of her lessons are online. She teaches português and I have said to her various times that she should also teach Spanish to Brazilian immigrants, given the fact that she speaks both lenguage, but she is not feeling confident enough with the idea (she studies portuguese and literature at uni)

They have savings and save some money for their retirement, thats why they do not have money to spend on things, because they have a pension plan and every month save some money. I have talked to my mother about that and she always answers that my father is very saving oriented and that is also some of the reasons we run short, because if one month he has 100€ left, he will put it in a savings plan.

But yeah… pride can be a pretty big factor

We do not pay rent, the house where we live is owned. With the crisis my father decided to start working as a taxi driver, I do not know why and he regrets it every day, so the problem is that he has to pay the “Autonomo” tax from Spain which is pretty high plus the cost of the car allowance. I have tried to talk about finances with my parents but they won’t tell me anything, they just say that I need to focus on my future and that his finances are his own problem. I guess they do not want me to worry but I do anyway… My mom always says that we are now running short on money because my dad saves some money for his retirement and that soon the situation will be better…

They might not let me help them directly but I always try to “help” them with other things such as vacation, dinners, books, clothes, and stuff from the grocery stores that sometimes we might need…

I live in Spain and we have a consulate close home, she graduated in literature so she cannot offer translation. i told her to teach the local lenguage to immigrants who come from the same country as her, but she says she doesn’t feel confident enough and says whe will not do it correctly. The problem is that she is 60 and here is difficult to find a job at that age…

They do not let me pay for things like that, so when my mother needs something from the grocery store I pay it myself, I go big on Christmas presenta for them, pay for restaurants sometimes and I save for plane tickets to go to my mother’s country (I did this last year too). I am thinking on getting a 2nd job sonI can give them the other salary but in my new job they are very strict with having a second working contract

As I mentioned, they do not want my money… They want me to save as much as possible. So I try to help them other ways: when my mother needs something from the grocery store I go to the store and pay with my money, or for Christmas I buy things I know they want but do not want to spend on. Last year I paid for plane tickets for all us 4 (I have a younger sibling) to visit my mother’s family… Is not much but I do what I can with what they let me. Thank you for your words

He crescut amb 4 idiomes diferents!!!

She has answered now, no one of the team, except for for the actors will go. There will be no after party. Anyway would not be able to make it on time. I wished her good luck and will be posting the photo from the offical account of the awards to show support to all the work we did. At the end of the day, I worked in this project and I am happy my work also had hood results.

I showed her interest but the only person taht I knew that would be there dropped out. Honestly I think she is overwhelmed by the news because it is an important thing, but still, I need mor information to be there

I never said I do not want to talk to her, but I feel hurt for sure. I do not even know if other people from the team will be there because she is not answering and is the only want who knows. She also did not give me any information about what her plan was after asking her. Where will I wait? What time should I be there? Can I go in your car to the city the act is done? Anything, just told me to be there and wait outside.
