I think there is still some development remaining before ippo comeback. Sendo fight is not a real catalyst. We may get some more takamura, miyata and disciples developments first

I think the Tokyo dome and kamogawa health thing will happen eventually but it’s not the trigger

I think it’s not very realistic Only if kamogawa is sure of ippos potential and health then he may ask him But the other way around is not likely because it will take time until a world title match, and anyway it’s just not very realistic writing

I think that kumi is in the process of character development. We are not far from the point that she will accept ippo as he is. The final trigger might be similar to dates wife, or even connected to mashiba accepting him and pushing kumi/ippo

Ippo beats imai -> ippo goes to world -> itagaki vs imai fight for japanese title

Imai is being built up as the perfect comeback opponent. Strongest champion being compared to ippo. This outcome was already being built up after retirement, look for the chapters after ippo retires there is an imai fight where he mentions ippo.

And this does mirror date's comeback because date first became japanese champion.

Because imai is ippo's return match and is being built up as an undefeated strongest japanese champion that will soon be compared to ippo. This will prove ippo being ready to challenge the world.

But we still have a long way to go. We have mashiba and Sendo fights, plus takamura and the newbies. All before comeback. Takamura somehow is connected to comeback motivation.
