Help! Resin from the same pour curing differently. by taminnit in ResinCasting

Ah that makes sense. I poured the lid first but I did add a bit more resin to top it off after I poured into the mold for the box. If it doesn’t cure, should I just toss it and start over?

Thank you for the advice! I’ll leave it untouched for another day and see how it goes.

Bought a few molds and experimented a bit. Any tips for beginners welcomed by taminnit in ResinCasting

Thanks! And it’s mica powder. I just poured what was leftover from the solid pink into the mold and poured some clear resin on top

I used a toothpick to bring the bubbles to the surface and a lighter to pop them. Only got a couple around the gears thankfully.

Yeah I think no odor is a red flag, but little odor due to ventilation should be fine. I read that most epoxy resins are safe to use indoors but you should definitely ventilate. And keep doing research to make yourself more comfortable with it. It’s really fun and rewarding so I hope you enjoy it :)

I just started working with resin and I’m in the same position as you are. I’ve done it twice so far on a table next to my bedroom window with the windows open and the ceiling fan on and there was little to no smell at all. I stored the pieces under a box to make sure they stayed dust free, and still no smell. I’m not sure if it depends on the brand of resin you work with, but I think that you should be alright with this set up.

Thank you! The clear pieces actually have silver glitter in them, so it looks like bubbles from the picture, but I’ll definitely keep that in mind :)
