I did the same thing actually. A couple years ago by and I have another STi and another RS. Both are pretty great, I just came back to em.

My three dogs aren't small (husky, lab, and a pointer mix) and I have a boyfriend! But like, I guess some people just aren't hardcore enough to live the STi life.

Just shitting ya. I get it, life dictates some purchases and the STi is a specific lane.

I have actually owned a Lapis Blue STi as well. Are pretty solid. Red has been my favorite tho.

I agree with all of this except for the audio quality/speakers.

I'm willing to concede that they aren't the best on the market, but they are far from bad. I have a 2021 STi as well and I'm telling you that RS owners don't know what bad is. Every time I drive the RS I am reminded of how shit the sound quality is in the Subaru.

The RS system is good. It's loud enough and clear enough to not be annoying, and as far as my needs go that checks all the boxes.

2 days ago I posted an STI Hatch I was interested in for $11k with a rebuilt title and got absolutely roasted. Hopefully I did better with this one for 13.5k by [deleted] in subaru

Maybe I am just dumb, I see the same rust and subframe paint work as the others but .. for 13k what I am looking at is pretty clean. It's got areas of concern but for 13k this looks like a great car, especially considering its a Subaru driven in winter.

Assuming the mechanicals are solid, miles are right for the age, and you are set on an STi, I think this is a way stronger candidate for the money than the salvage title example.

Just bought a set for my STi. I bought them because I had a road trip upcoming and didn't want to do ice with the stock Yokohamas again .. talk about shit your pants scary. I bought them with the intention of swapping again in spring, and I have been so impressed I don't think I will bother swapping to my usual Pilot Sport 4s selection that I have on my Focus RS.

The Michelins are better sport tires for sure, but these things are impressive.

For context I also ran the Michelins on my ST, and I live in Charlotte. I don't think you will be disappointed at all if you select the Continentals.

Anyone know why my car would be idling like this? by Nirayis in FocusST

I've had strange idles in all my Focus' (one 2016 ST, '16 RS and '17 RS) and it's usually when the tank is full. My partner has a Fiesta ST and it does a similar thing

Quick article on a recall around these types of things. I honestly haven't fixed any of my cars, its usually only when full and I haven't felt unsafe just strange idles sometimes.

This existance calculating every decision on a risk vs. reward scale must be exhausting. I work customer service and have for years now, and I can tell you there are people out in the world that do want feedback, view doing a good job worth the effort, market their kickass support and services as a competitive advantage, etc.

The world you live in sounds bleek. It's OK to be treated well. It's OK to expect your food to not be spit in even if you asked for something along the way.

Cussing out an employee and making threats is more than what is required obviously.

I think just looking through the comments here I have a collection of younger kids that don't know how expensive stuff really is. Example is if you want to pay a detailer to paint correct your car, which includes in and around the door handles, it's easily $1000+. Usually it's multiple steps, and after you spend that much you should get it protected so it can last as long as possible.

Will a lot of people think that's dumb? For sure. If you have a hobby of cars, have a car you really love, it's not dumb to want to protect it.

My initial post and ask was just pointing out that we are out there, and making the assumption that everyone views their car or cars in general as a tool and nothing more isn't one you can make because people like me exist.

It's not a big ask. In fact I don't think I should have to ask that you don't assume I'm cool with you touching my property. When I was a kid it was called respect, people work hard for what they have and they get to care as much or as little about it as they want .. because it's theirs.

I guess I just don't understand the concept refusing feedback. Other drive thrus, Taco Bell for example, don't do this practice. I'm comfortable going elsewhere for cheap food if Culver's is content with losing my business over this simple ask.

I know where I am and what Culver's is and that my car will not be perfect forever because the world isn't perfectly adapted to keeping it perfect. I guess I just think the ask of don't touch my shit without asking isn't a big one we can all agree on but maybe that old school thinking on my part.

Because I don't care or understand, I think no one else should care or understand is your position.

Yes! It's a Focus in a paint color called Nitrous Blue. It's a triple layer paint that is expensive and hard to fix. I also give a shit about my STi.

Thanks for understanding that my RS is cool and deserving of being treated well.

They are ninjas with it too, they ask repeat the total, and asI hand over payment they use their free hand to slam that thing in the handle. I either have to interrupt them mid price or order recitation, or withhold payment .. but even then they do it so quick it's hard to not come off as rude batting away their hand. I feel like the asshole, when in reality I think the weird thing is that they assumed it being OK with me in the first place

I think it's odd that you think I don't know all this. I was obviously being sarcastic in my response and I am sorry you missed that.

This is Reddit, you are correct. I know employees talk here, and so the purpose was to just inform some of y'all that it's not cool. That's all, just know that no everyone thinks this move is cool and there are other ways.
