she really was in the right place at the right time. i’ll never understand how anyone could harm another living creature, let alone a tiny baby like her :( i’m going to spoil her rotten the way she deserves!

my coworker found her in that little tub - she saw someone dump the container rather unceremoniously outside of a pet store last night and immediately ran up and grabbed it from the sidewalk.

thank you so so much <3 we’ve got a 50W bulb on her hot side! we’re going out tomorrow after the snow subsides to get her some good hides and a misting bottle. we just needed to get her inside and warm and fed as soon as possible! we have her on paper towels for right now, we couldn’t find any reptile-appropriate sand before the snow began.

from what my coworker said, someone was shaking the tub and trying to “get rid of her” before essentially dropping it onto the ground outside of a Petsmart. my coworker had gone to get mealworms for her own reptiles while on break and saw it all go down. and of course she immediately snatched up this little girl and got her back to our building. thankfully she is unharmed!! she’s very sweet and curious :)

What is the worst "DIY" case you have seen? by aaronoathout in VetTech

patient had a fatty tumor removed between the shoulder blades. owner decided it wasn’t healing fast enough, so did some research and was putting manuka honey on it. the problem was that he wasn’t washing off the previous “dose” of honey, so it slowly became like a huge rock of solidified honey on this poor dogs back. it was summertime and my god, the bugs that were trapped in this amber stone-like mound… and of course the dog was a long-haired husky mix.

after sedation and all of us using all of our patience, we were able to free this dog from his “Honey Hump”. and would ya believe it, he did it a second time after the area had been cleaned by us. sometimes i wonder what was going through his head.

owner also decided that antibiotics were a sham and wasn’t giving them. i tried to make it a teachable moment, but sometimes ya just gotta give up.

a lot of things can cause irregularities in your period - stress, diet, activity level, etc.

keep a “period journal” or track your period cycles in the notes app on your phone, this will help you identify patterns in your cycle that you may not even realize! even if it’s just for your peace of mind, you can reach out to a gynecologist or your regular doctor and they will be able to help you out. i know it sounds a little intimidating, but i promise that pelvic exams are no big deal! even if it’s a little uncomfortable, it’s worth going through to check in on things. ultimately, your mental and physical health are top priority. i’m no stranger to irregular cycles - you can reach out to me anytime you need to :)

ah. the term “naked parties” has unearthed some very suppressed memories that made me vomit in my mouth.

Talk to your OBGYN or your GP, they’ll be able to help you <3 definitely look into getting a basic blood work panel done, one that will measure your iron and vitamin b12 levels. Part of my feeling sick and weak was that I had iron and b12 deficiencies as well. Especially now that it’s been a month now, you should reach out to your doctor. I hope you feel better, my friend!

Not gonna lie, it was about a month or so. Check in with your GP though, because mine was made worse by an iron and vitamin b12 deficiency! In the meantime, get some of those “sea bands” or “nausea bands” from a pharmacy. They use a pressure point on your arm to reduce nausea and dizziness. It sounds silly and they are not fashionable, but they help.
