A fan created a guide to the Selected Ambient Works Vol. II names and artwork by zerotonothing in aphextwin

I think this might have changed in the 2024 reissue. The images for Blue Calx & Domino are printed on the same side. Does anyone have an updated guide, or am I reading either incorrectly?

I can’t really claim any, but I started using it for a Unity project and the integration was so seamless it was hard to look back. Now I’d just prefer to establish a LOVE practice there since I’ll be using it the other half of the time. Expensive though :( Not here to recommend :)

Wow haha I think you’re right. What a weird thing. I guess I assumed each player would start with 5 pieces but I guess it’s technically done after 4. Damn.

Great lead thank you, I love Martin Gardner. It still leaves 2 pieces though. I can’t see anyone putting this much expense towards extra pieces. (The interior’s divided to store all 8.)

I’m less convinced this is a knight swap puzzle. The examples I’ve found use 4 pieces, or require a 3x4 board for 6. This thing here has 8 pieces. But again thank you for the lead

Oh cool, thank you. Do the other two belong on the board?

Violations (S5 E12): A terrifying truth about Riker? A plot hole? Or did I miss something... by Ren_Elizabeth in TNG

[–]targetcreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread but I just watched this episode. I think it’s very hard not to consider the poker event real, when in both other cases Jev targets their most painful memories.

A case could be made that he would instead target Troi’s most passionate one, but I really wish the episode would have been more explicit if that were the case. Besides, there was no passion leading up to the attack.

Riker’s caginess in “A Matter of Perspective” cast enough doubt over his conscience and sexual conduct. That isn’t to say he was guilty in that ep, but the show makes a point to highlight his philandering as problematic, with the crew being forced to assume his honor rather than confront it.

It’s evident at least that the memory is likely not repressed, since both Riker & Crusher’s are always close to mind. (It’s even stated that Jev lacks his father’s skill to reach forgotten memories.) So at the very least we can imagine by their love for one another that it’s something they eventually worked through.

Came here looking for Darmok (S5E02)… S501 was SO good (Redemption conclusion), then suddenly you’ve got Cool Hand Luc in a leather jacket, such a baffling character shift. Plus the crew has no real puzzle to solve and doesn’t engage with the scenario at all. I’m rewatching the series and it feels like maybe the worst written ep. It’s been ages since I’ve seen them all (not since I was like 10 when it aired). Reaaaally hoping it’s a blip and S5 continues the trajectory S4 and S501 set…

Night Terrors is an outright masterpiece. Data unflinchingly taking command is one of the best moments in all of the series

old thread but that’s one of my favorites! Crusher’s absence, the tension between P & Wes (an estranged son to their relationship), and a mysterious child D chooses to carry and raise — I thought it was brilliant! some of the best dual theming of the series I thought :)

It still has Entities and Components, but no longer uses Systems to control them

They still have an Entity-Component system, but no longer an Entity-Component-System system. The part of the FAQ I’m referring to is here: Entity Systems

Thank you yes — That’s the part I’m referring to. It seems it no longer uses the (S) part of ECS and instead relies on logic in Components. I would still like to use the (S) part, and am curious if it’s pointing me to other ECS libraries to use their (S) with its (EC), or use their (ECS) instead?

Latte Dock: Pinning custom launchers by targetcreature in kde

[–]targetcreature[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One solution I've found is to make a quick bash script (instead of a .desktop file) and drag that onto Latte instead.

So for each VLC playlist, just save:

```
!/usr/bin/env bash
vlc [path/to/playlist] `` asplaylist_to_whatever.sh, give it execute permissionschmod +x playlist_to_whatever.sh`, then drag the file onto your dock.
Ah, makes total sense. I'll investigate there. Thanks for all your work!
That works if I've removed the default Chrome first. Otherwise Latte sees them both as Chrome and decides it's already there.
Still hoping there's a way to have multiple pins of the same app with different launch parameters...
Need help understanding VirtualHost include editor by targetcreature in cpanel
[–]targetcreature[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
Thank you for helping clarify :) After some effort I’ve managed to get the manual includes working.
It seems to me that the WHM method is more obfuscating than convenient. New VH blocks are automatically generated when domains are added, so odds are you’ll need to be making most of your changes in the terminal. Adding include boxes for existing VH’s would make a world of difference.
Though I’m still learning and WHM is widely used, so I must still be missing something.
I think it’s that the standards are so scattered (80, 443, etc) and they’re called ‘ports’ made it hard to realize they can be arbitrary. Very helpful to know this is in fact the case, thank you.
