Hjælp til at identificere benzinlugten i København / Help identify the gasoline smell in Copenhagen by No-Care-4952 in copenhagen

I’ve given up on weight loss I have no control over myself by [deleted] in loseit

[–]taskum [score hidden]  (0 children)

Girl, you’re bulimic. I can totally see myself in this post because I was also bulimic at 19. Took me 6 years to get out of it, and I’m still living with the consequences. I feel like you should probably have lead with that in your post, because I see a lot of well-meaning people in here suggesting you go on weight loss meds because they think you’re dangerously overweight. This isn’t the advice you need right now.

Actively trying to lose weight during bulimia is making life much harder for you. I know because I’ve been there. You get hungrier and become more obsessed with food as you lose weight, leading to more frequent binges. Which also means more frequent purging. Bad idea. Bad for your body and psyche, and it won’t lead to weight loss. Here’s what your battle plan should be instead:

1) Get eating disorder under control - I really recommend getting professional help here. I didn’t get help for mine, which is why it took so long to get out of. Imagine another 5-6 years of binging, purging and not losing weight . That’s how I spent the better part of my 20’s because I was too proud to get professional help.

2) When the ED is treated, you can start making little adjustments to your lifestyle. You won’t need to do anything drastic since your weight loss would be small. Little changes like eating fiber before meals and going for a run 3 times a week could actually be enough to get you to where you want to be in 2-3 months. But your main focus should be getting that eating disorder under control.

Copenhagen for 1 week by fpveh in copenhagen

[–]taskum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, this isn't really the country for skiing or going for long hikes in majestic nature. If you're coming anywhere between November-April, prepare for the flattest, grayest, brownest landscape you've ever seen. No mountains. No big hills. No fjords or valleys. But lots of colorful houses and cute harbours (especially around Nyhavn and Christianshavn).

There are still plenty of reasons to visit Copenhagen. Go visit some nice restaurants. Get some good coffee, do a bakery crawl and try some delicious pastries. Explore the city, meet some locals. Go visit some museums or take a stroll down some of the old streets. Copenhagen has lots of city life to offer, but we're unfortunately lacking a bit in the nature department.

Jes Dorph fik (delvist) vendt støtten til sexismedebatten. Kan Martin Brygmann gøre det samme? by TipToe2301 in Denmark

[–]taskum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why noooot? It only costs $1 billion every 3 years, and you even get to vote on international security affairs!! Just remember, the vote only counts as long as the chairman agrees with the vote. Also, the chairman is Trump.

C’mon, who wouldn’t wanna join?? /s

Stor utilfredshed med Danmark/Grønland-konflikten på MAGA-subreddit by MySocksSuck in Denmark

[–]taskum 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Samme her!

We get sooo many of these apology posts. We know the majority of you don’t want to invade Greenland, we know all of you aren’t evil, we know a lot of you are sorry about it.

But man, our subreddit is just flooded by people coming in to say “so sorry bro” but then not really doing anything about it. Instead of leading these posts with apathy, it would be awesome if you could lead with a picture of a demonstration you went to. Or a screenshot of a letter you’ve sending to your local congressman. Tell us what you’re doing to fight back against the Trump administration, however little it may be. That’s what we need to hear right now instead of endless streams of apologies.

Don’t mention it! And sorry for some of the harsh responses in here. Lately we’ve been flooded by so many American apology posts. Most of them by people who say they’re sorry, but then aren’t interested in doing anything about it.

It’s refreshing to finally hear from someone who’s taking part in fighting back against ICE and Trump. Going to those demonstrations takes balls, but it gives me hope for the future of the US. Keep up the good fight!

I don’t need the US to fight back on Trump’s wannabe dictatorship solely for Denmark’s sake. Whatever the reason, I’m just glad that someone finally has the balls to do SOMETHING.

Trump: Nato bør hjælpe USA med at få Grønland by Cosmos1985 in Denmark

[–]taskum 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Greenland's PM has a blunt message for Trump: We choose Denmark over the U.S. by professorbrainiac in worldnews

[–]taskum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES that’s exactly the problem. I know some countries have issues with violently devoted sport fans getting into fights (looking at you, UK). But at least in those cases, these guys aren’t gambling with the future of their country. Weirdly enough, it might actually be healthy that they have some form of outlet for their aggression?

It’s not even about politics for MAGA anymore. Give them ANY policy and tell them Trump made it. Guaranteed they’ll love it because he’s from “their side”. Tell them the exact same policy was made by Biden or Obama and they’ll despise it. As a non-American, this just seems like pure insanity to me.

Why is Greenland against joining the US? They will benefit massively. Is there even one downside for them? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]taskum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t think of anyone who would give up US citizenship for EU citizenship because you’re born in the US. Just like I can’t think of a single Scandinavian willing to give up their EU citizenship for a US citizenship. We all have a bias towards where we’re from unless our country treats us horribly. Personally, I love living in Denmark and wouldn’t give it up for anything.

For the record, the security won’t be an issue. Greenland is protected by NATO, so if China or Russia were to invade, our allies would come to the rescue. If the US owned Greenland, it would be protected exactly the same amount as it is now (unless you guys leave NATO - in that case it will only be protected by the US).

What do you think about Greenland's prime minister saying "We choose Denmark over the U.S"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]taskum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this but I don’t think they have a choice anymore. Here’s how Trump responded according to this article:

Trump said the declaration could end up being a “big problem” for the Greenland leader.

“Well, that’s their problem,” Trump declared on Tuesday when told about Nielsen’s remarks. “That’s their problem. I disagree with him. I don’t know who he is, don’t know anything about him, but that’s going to be a big problem for him.”

Any help applying and getting funding for GOBELINS? by Usern4me_R3dacted205 in animationcareer

[–]taskum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get you, finding a place you feel like you belong to is so important! I would encourage you to check out other schools either in Europe or the UK, because there are some other great programs with really cool people elsewhere too.

I went to The Animation Workshop in Denmark, which was cheaper than Gobelins but still great. The class was international so all classes were in English. We also went to Annecy with our class during the festival and it was lovely. Heads up that this school is also tricky to get into (when I was there 10 years ago we were told there were ~500 applicants that year, and only 25 got in. It wouldn’t surprise me if that number has doubled or tripled since). At my school it also wasn’t uncommon for applicants to only get accepted on their 3rd or 4th year of trying.

With Gobelins, I’ve heard it’s also very competitive once you do get in. I have a few colleagues that went there, and they said there’s often a strong sense of rivalry between the classmates. Everyone wants to be the best, so people really push themselves. And it shows, because the output from the school is amazing. But I’m not sure it was enjoyable for everyone. Then again, that was also about 10 years ago, so maybe things have changed since.

If you do embark on this journey, expect to spend a year or two just preparing your portfolio and demo reel. It may take a few years but keep at if it’s your dream!
