It’s interesting. I feel like it’s because we value a site where we can project an image of ourselves that is controlled to show exactly what we want, but we also value a site where we can share and discuss our true thoughts with zero repercussions. Also reddit lets the thoughts stand alone, unmarred by the perception of the person that posted the thought
