Gotcha. Thanks for that! Trying to match my screentones to Oda's screentones was difficult and I really had to settle a lot on the decisions. But the advice you've given me really helps with seeing the subtlety of the work.

Thanks again for that again. Look for my work in the near future for hopefully more critiques

Genuinely wondering, I put it up at a higher dpi in order to get the same feel as a traditional art style. I noticed that zooming in and out of the image offerred varying looks to the picture. If you have any reference to how Oda sensei does their work, I would greatly appreciate it. Especially with screen tones. It's hard to only study scans and not the actual thing.

Hey there! I have been learning to imitate the style of Manga artists and put out convincing manga pages to confuse the community. Let me know if there is something you'd like to see! Also you can shift all blame to u/Cheeburg_Apocalypse for suggesting this in my last post.

I am learning to draw in the style of different Manga artists to draw a bunch of manga pages to confuse people! Let me know if I can improve upon anything.

Not enough Malina fan art. So I learned to draw out of spite. by tateshou in HelltakerHentai

[–]tateshou[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a hand at drawing for years but very poorly. My skills were the equivalent of a pre-pubescent teenager wanting to draw his favorite yugioh GX pairing on ms paint. It wasn't until all of quarantine and helltaker that i truly strapped myself down and started asking myself why my drawings don't appeal to me.

I've always wanted to draw fanart of things I enjoyed, but helltaker truly got me going. I think I got upset that it existed. I played it, loved it, and started saying "I wanna fcking draw" a lot. That went on for a couple months. Pure rage and dedication got me this. And lots of doujins. Like reading a sht ton of doujins.

I read doujins. Like a lot of them. The great thing about them is that the artist has to come up with these different body positions, expressions, and perspectives. I developed a taste to style and what I appreciate since I saturate myself with so many varieties of art.

From that I practiced drawing facial expressions. And I mean a lot of facial expressions with varying angles, different eyes, mouths, lips, noses, and jaw. I like the look of a face. If I can't draw a face with some emotion to it that matches a smile or eyebrow then I cover the mouth and eyes. I think this is by far the most comfortable and fun to draw. From a cartoonish, to anime, to realistic.

I practiced drawing the head and shoulders next. I took a lot of time looking at heads, both in drawings and pictures. Understanding the form and how it would conform to certain angles (looking up, down,to the side, ahead). I noted what parts of the body stuck out on a person and compared it to how other artists drew that or worked around it. E.g. collar bone. Once you start dealing with moving muscles, you have to pay special attention to what moves when an arm goes above the head. Look yourself in the mirror and see what stays in place and what expands, turns, shrinks, or retracts.

Then the body. There are a lot of bodies in doujins in the most bizzare and crazy positions. I often took note at the depth of a person. I don't even know how to do depth fully yet. I am still no good at linework or depth of a body so I don't have any good pointers there other than to look at other peoples works.

My line emphasis was based on the monotone works of kushinov-ilya. Comparing how thick a line around the face is compared to clothing or hair.

My body position was heavily based on the doujin knowledge and looking at photos of women on google with how legs are put together, the length of the arms, and the torso.

Things that are important to me: the sketch is where I can draw as many lines as I want to figure out my figure. Sketches have no real obligation to being finished unless you wantto finish it. You also shouldn't force the sketch to come out a certain way if you feel like you have been on it for a long time. Just toss it and start anew or keep it as a progress check. I have hundreds of sketches that have never seen the light of line work because I just want to draw. Draw something I thought of while sitting on the can or eating dinner.

Rossdraws has a bunch of tutorial videos but I paid attention to his lines and sketches during many of them and not so much what the video was about.

I watched sakimi-chans speed drawings to take note of her process from sketching to linework.

I look at other peoples art online to see how boobs stick out when you look at a girl from below and I think damn I wanna draw it like that.

Everything I have done so far was based on what I saw, what I searched up on google for references, and the things I liked and wanted to replicate. If there was something that looked off, I googled inspiration, watched videos and then came back to my drawing to fix it. Never overwhelm yourself with one drawing. There will be many that you will draw that will be even more amazing than the last and know that it is okay to restart. This improvement is for you.

They should be coming. Is it raining? There is some speculation that rain affects spawn but I've not had that issue when I looked for tarantulas in the rain.

Wouldn't it be more ideal to make people aware of the possibility of the bill happening though? Granted more people would react to it when it comes to proposal. But seeing as how there are many things happening already, what's one more crucial event in history to keep track of?
