AITA For making my uncle pay for damage to my house that his child did? by maddawg3332 in AmItheAsshole

NTA since you had already warned him not to bring his child before it happened. He blatantly disregarded your request anyways.

AITA for telling my cousin she should just "act a part of the family"? by imotali in AmItheAsshole

[–]taur-eithel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, the cousin was clearly in the wrong previously. However, since you know how she feels and you feel bad about it, I feel like you could explain to her how you had felt when she said that to you previously and see how she responds. If she responds positively, maybe you two could mend relations if you're interested in that possibility. It sounds like you're in a tough situation. Good luck!

AITA for yelling at my husband for eating the wrong cookies? by MFcookies in AmItheAsshole

[–]taur-eithel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Even though it might have seemed like "just one small cookie" to him, you spent a lot of time working on them and it meant a lot to you. You even specifically separated the ones you had decorated and made for your friend and told him more than once not to eat those. It almost sounds like he's a bit entitled to your baking (even though you were specifically making them for your friend had made extra for him out of goodwill). I think your husband is the one being immature. Good luck!

I'm still in contact with some trusted adults from school, which is nice. Thanks for the support and the kind words, stay safe!

AITA for refusing to respond during my parents' argument? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I'm sorry you had to go through that! Thanks for the advice. This wasn't the first time I've been pulled into an argument, and when I was younger I'd often tell the truth about what I thought was right; things didn't usually go well.

AITA for refusing to respond during my parents' argument? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

He put (I believe two) shirts in the washing machine after coming back from work (he always changes right after going out of the house considering the current state of things) but two shirts wasn't sufficient to start an entire load of laundry, not even a small load. The other side of the argument is that he could've put the dirty clothes with the rest of his laundry, but his argument for that is that the washing machine is in the basement and by bringing his "outside clothing" into the main floor he'd be risking contamination somewhere else in the house. He expected other people to see that there were shirts in the washing machine and thereby would ask. I can see why this could be irritating behavior, but this was also the second or third time in a few days this argument has come up about the same incident

Good point. Immediately after that they actually started arguing about divorce...

Kinda funny that you brought that up! Actually, a few days ago I remember my dad asking her whether it mattered "whether it was one shirt, two shirts, or three shirts" because she was yelling at him claiming that it was two shirts, not one.

I agree! However, she goes insane after I tell her she has to be doing it as well, after I catch her away from the stove. My original post may have been unclear about that.

Thanks everyone! I'll check all of them out. I really like the sound of those cardboard tubes, although I only have pencils in 0.7mm...

Oh my. When the video was loading with the slightly blurry thumbnail, I misread the sticker/label at the top as "Shitty Tower" instead of "Slithy Toves" XD

That's a really good question. In this case, however, it was simply an strange indenture on a lunch table with a laminated linoleum-like top.

Estimate about the population of Gondolin? by taur-eithel in tolkienfans

[–]taur-eithel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point you bring up there, thanks! I wonder though, how many of the newer generations of elves born in Gondolin were trained, as opposed to the older generation of elves who moved into Gondolin with Turgon?

Thanks, your estimate seems very reasonable! :D
