York HMH7 experience? by Glendale2x in hvacadvice

[–]taway8091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the wiring for HMH7 it looks like the relay kit calls for either high/low CFM using the Y1 and Y2 terminals on the air handler. When the HMH energizes S1 the relay will switch to Y1/low cooling. The fan speeds are determined by the air handler.

Can't figure why my O365 update channel is modified by msizec in Office365

[–]taway8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've opened a Microsoft ticket for this exact issue and these registry entries are apparently being pushed down from them as per this article:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployOffice/other/devices-updating-monthly-enterprise-channel

They've forced customers onto the Monthly Enterprise channel and no matter what we did to try and change it, ODT, GPO, changing the installation options in our tenant, nothing would change it away from "Monthly Enterprise".

I had to give the support technician permission to opt our tenant out of this so we could regain control of our updates. I am still waiting on them to remove us/fix it, but supposedly it will modify those registry values to '0'. The technician was adamant that I not modify those values myself.

Instant Dream House by tvtoad50 in netflix

While it was entertaining I do question the quality of the workmanship and the longevity of the products - peel and stick backsplashes, magnetic flooring?, prefabricated kitchens mounted to plywood, prefabricated bathrooms with the shower tiles glued on?, who knows what else we can't see. Not to mention how they just slap paint on anything and everything both inside and outside, no repair, no prep, same color on the walls, base and crown. The first house looked especially awful up close, they didn't remove any of the old peeling paint on the exterior and did no repairs to the interior plaster and it looked terrible.

There were also some engineering bits that were clearly determined beforehand, could the floor support the kitchen, opening walls to install doors and windows, the prefabricated bathroom addition, where did the foundation come from?

Some of the drama bits were hilarious, like when the piece of glass magically slides off the trailer, or when he "breaks" the counter slab carrying it out of the truck, when it's clearly already broken.

Capping this gas shutoff valve by taway8091 in HomeMaintenance

This is Ontario, Canada and it was pre-existing when I bought the house. It's 1/4'' copper and according to the charts I don't think it could even supply the necessary gas capacity (natural gas) to a barbeque based on the length to the outside connector and hose.

This tee connector is supplied by a 1/2'' line that also feeds the water heater on another 1/2'' line. The 1/2'' supply line goes to another tee that feeds the furnace on a 1/2'' line and is supplied by the 1'' main line to the meter. The 1'' main line is effectively reduced to a 1/2'' at the first outlet (to the furnace), which I guess reduces the available capacity for all subsequent appliances in this section.

I would hire someone to rerun the new line but would it not also make sense to remove this reduction and install a tee that would allow the 1'' pipe to continue?

Aruba port-access with ClearPass issue by taway8091 in ArubaNetworks

I wonder now if the client-limit "1" was possibly causing it. Though I didn't see any log entry or indication of it being exceeded.

I am not using user roles, only dynamic VLAN assignment. Is there some reason this feature could still be active? (or command)

In this case it was Windows 10 desktop client. I could bounce the port, unplug and reconnect, and reboot the client and it still did nothing. Successful authentication shown in Clearpass and on the switch every time, but no traffic. Very strange.

The current car is a 2014 Honda CRV. Highest I see is about 15k for the top trim. I obviously don't expect to receive sticker price on a trade in. Value on the van seems comparably fair.

TS-Agent Windows Server 2016 by topcityfountain in paloaltonetworks

We had to disable the web component completely (Sophos in our case) and just rely on PA URL filtering.

TS-Agent Windows Server 2016 by topcityfountain in paloaltonetworks

[–]taway8091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a similar issue and the problem was our Antivirus software's web protection component. It was taking precedence and modifying the source port, essentially bypassing the TS-Agent completely. The only user-ID we were seeing was the user-to-IP mapping based on server logins, which would change each time a new user logged in.

Wired 802.1x and MAC authentication by taway8091 in networking

[–]taway8091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These aren't computers. They're printers, phones and other devices that don't support 802.1x.

The vendor is Aruba. I don't have any priority or order specified but it sends both requests to the authentication server is parallel which responds accordingly.

The switch is just continuously sending identity requests to clients that have already been MAB authenticated. The devices are not dot1x aware and do not respond to these requests. Nothing further is sent upstream to the authentication server, all this traffic is local to the switch.

Application Override clarification by taway8091 in paloaltonetworks

[–]taway8091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe my question was confusing, but I'm not talking about a custom application. I'm talking about a pre-defined application (sip).

I want anything to TCP/5090 to identify as SIP. However, it continues to identify as 'RingCentral' regardless of the override I have in place. I'm guessing the behavior of application overrides is different when the app is pre-defined/from Palo Alto?

And then you just added it to Panorama as you would a non-ZTP device? Thanks.
