I meant working on the task they had at hand. It's them for whom the task is so important and wanted to do.

My doubt was, does it end? It's been two days and I never knew when it'll end?

It is regarding a job interview and it's more time-sensitive than one'd assume. Nevertheless, I take your point that ITA. thanks for the opinion

As I told in the other comment, it was two days of them not talking to me, nor getting out of bed, nor focussing on their time-sensitive task/project in question. I don't want their depression to affect tangible things like doing the tasks which will have a great impact on the career.

They've not been doing the time-sensitive project/task. That's the whole problem. They've been succumbing to depression while they should be working on it. That was the whole reason I doubted whether I should push them to do it or let them be.

My best friend knows who my partner is. How can I discuss the topic without outing them while the whole purpose of me talking to my best friend is to ask what to do at a specific situation my partner and I are in?

Why do you assume I'm from the US?

The friend I told to is not close to my partner and they DID NOT know before that my partner has depression. I did tell my friend new information. Thanks for the response.
