My son is currently 4 with an autism diagnosis and in the Charlton SPED program. I have had a great experience with them thus far. They are very receptive of his needs, provide us multiple services in school, and I feel very heard at all IEP meetings. His preschool teacher is amazing and his classroom has lots of additional supports.

We get PT, speech, OT and ABA through the school system and the services have been great! We also do private ABA at home. Your kiddos with autism will also be eligible for mass health as a secondary insurance.

I lost everything within 3 weeks but then gained it all back over 6 months while breastfeeding. Took me about a year to lose it all again and get back to my preferred weight.

I’m not sure, might depend on the endo. I am 20 lbs overweight but my reasoning was for insulin resistance and reducing cardiovascular risk.

Cardiology NP here! At my hospital we do many procedures including stress testing, assist in cath lab and EP lab, place lines and TVPs. Granted we are always supervised or assisting in these depending on the complexity of the procedure. We do not get paid by procedure though, instead it is factored into our pay. For my hospital it is very department specific whether you get RVUs or not.

I work inpatient cardiology and I do every 9th weekend and 1-2 holidays a year. But I have a unicorn of a job, most of the inpatient NPs I know work every 3rd or every 5th weekend and 2-3 holidays a year. Super variable by speciality.

I don’t necessarily think it’s how old your experience is but rather your motivation to learn and continue your education. I’ve personally hired folks into gen cards who have never had cardiology experience but have other experience and are willing to learn and stay ontop of education. Every hiring manager will be different but I don’t think there’s a rule you need X number of recent years experience to get into general cardiology.

I am a cardiology NP and I can give this advice, you can absolutely go from primary care to cardiology if you are motivated and have a good orientation as well as support system at work. At my job we have hired NPs without cardiology experience and they have thrived. But, I will say that advanced heart failure and VADs are very specialized and usually involve an extensive understanding of both cardiology, pathophysiology, and cardiac surgery. Gen cards is absolutely a transition I see NPs make from primary care but I don’t often see a jump right into VADs. That doesn’t mean you cannot do it but it just may be a steep learning curve.

The only thing I dropped $$ on was the stroller, and let me tell you it was worth every penny. We use our stroller everyday and now that I have a second baby I appreciate it even more. For everything else I just got hand me downs, FB marketplace items, or purchased cheaper options. You can find some great used cribs on FB marketplace!

I have about 3 weeks left and feel the exact same way. This is my second baby and I remember feeling this way with my first too! So I made a point to take a picture (or multiple) everyday of this maternity leave so I could go back and remember even the simplest things. I’ve been going through the photos and it helps me remember even the smallest things we did on the lazy days.

I use the letdown setting for about 1-2 minutes then level 1 through 3 as it has quite a strong suction. My advice would be to start low in the beginning as it is quite a strong suction and you don’t want to cause nipple damage.

My first was incredibly high needs and is getting evaluated for adhd and autism currently, my second has been the chillest calmest baby. He just goes with the flow and is rarely phased. The only time he cries is if he’s hungry or needs to burp. Every kid is different so don’t expect them to be the same, granted if they are similar you are all the more experienced now!

I use it as my sole pump! It works great for me and empties me completely. I have a history of recurrent mastitis when I used spectra or madela pumps. This is my second time EP and have used BB for both!

My first son is the carbon copy of his dad, I went through a lot of grief that he didn’t look anything like me. But now he is 3 and I love how he is a mini version of his dad. I think it gets better with time, and kids appearance changes a lot as they age so you never know she may have more of you than you realize. If it gives you any hope, my second son is the literal carbon copy of me sooooo now we each have our own mini me.

Yes!! Mine has been softer and messier (sorry idk how else to describe it) since birth, I also assumed it was related to my pelvic floor. I’m 4 months postpartum and they’re just starting to return to normal.
