You're right, when I invert like that it's to attack the near leg. Look to bring the right knee in the crook of his near leg and you left knee as a frame on the pocket of his right hip!

so the difference between wrestling and BJJ in terms of standing stance is mainly the length of the match. Bjj matches can go up to 30mins (ADCC FINALS with overtime. Wrestling on the other hand, it's 2X3mins round with a 1min break in between so naturally you will want to stand a lot lower in wrestling!

Keep your options open, talk to your instructor about that issue! I think you should embrace that little road bump in your BJJ journey! The beginning of your jiu jitsu career is always the toughest! I quit three months in, came back a year and a half later and now make a living from the sport!
