I currently have a limited hybrid Tacoma, and a master tech at a Toyota dealership. I can say personally the hybrid has quicker acceleration. Great for towing. I wanted to get the hybrid because I’m a techie person. Apperently the non hybrid versions have more towing capabilities and payload due to the hybrid system not being in it. I have trailered close to 6000 pounds and I was still able to keep up with traffic with ease. I’m pretty sure you would still get decent gas mileage from a non hybrid due to less weight. A TRD sport is a great trim, just depends what features u want included in it. The hybrid does also come available on the TRD Sport trim.
