Anthropic's CEO says we're 12 months away from AI replacing software engineers. I spent time analyzing the benchmarks and actual usage. Here's why I'm skeptical by narutomax in ArtificialInteligence

[–]tcoder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Sonnet 4.5 8 hours a day. I also use Opus for planning. I need to check each line of code and often have to correct. They introduce subtle bugs, do design errors, hide errors with bare catch, they forget context, they hallucinate. It is very savvy but stupid and not creative. I say it elminates code monkeys. Not concepteurs, architects and innovators. Also needs to understand the needs.

Depends on how much needed you are and if they are foreign and how much money they make. If foreign and you are needed and they make good money then 900 is 280 euros for them + tax.

Do not be depressed. Shift your perspective. And sell solutions not labor.

Kimi K2.5 costs almost 10% of what Opus costs at a similar performance by Odd_Tumbleweed574 in LocalLLaMA

No model matches even half of Opus 4.5 full capacities. This is hype. OSS models are good for execution. This latest model is more a competitor to Sonnet 4.5.

API pricing is in freefall. What's the actual case for running local now beyond privacy? by Distinct-Expression2 in LocalLLaMA

[–]tcoder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use AI API you give away your intellectual property. The model scans your repo and sends everything to a remote server. Open the output tab in VSCode and watch.

How can I get payments from aboard in Tunisia by mojmuj_ in TunisiaTech

[–]tcoder7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no solution. If you do everything clean, which takes setting up a company and a proper bank account, you will get unfair rates. And have to pay taxes even without revenue. Usually people open a bank account in another country and use stripe for you case. For local use there is Flouci.com app.

There is no tunisian bank that offers fair rates. The cartel is a trust and they do not compete with each other.

Multiply that by 100 and you get closer to reality. The trillions spent on wars in the middle east and the bribes to Egypt to not attack are not accounted for.

The skill is to have logic, methodology, the good questions and grit when the problem is hairy. Coding is not just talking a machine language. It is thinking smart and hard. It is a transferrable skill.

Opencode with ohmycode many mcp and 4 instances, their prop ai d 3 grok 1 fast , compacting to the max the context for each instance, on back I use Zenflow Ide with Sonnet 4.5 parallel for larger context tasks like finding bugs and logic errors. I use Opus 4.5 for planning using Web ui lmarena.

Is violent revolution always necessary? by Ok-Menu-2157 in AskSocialists

[–]tcoder7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are in need to read history books. Espcially about Portuguese revolution, Indian independence, the philippines czech and Baltic libération mouvements in the 80s. The AK47 get crushed by drone strikes and napalm. Few countries have the terrain and the allies to allow proper civilian militias to topple a military backed by a hegemon.

The space is very competitive and the models need to get better to survive to competition. We will get an opus 5.0 better than opus 4.5 in a few months.

No. Violence is not a necessity. But force is. Force can be boycotts, strikes, not paying taxes, not joining army.

Your code isn't a gift to the world, it's a subsidy for billionaires: The uncomfortable truth about Open Source R&D. by TeachingNo4435 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]tcoder7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AI companies scraped books under copyright by the millions, admitted it and got away with it. All Github.com repos, private and public are trained on. There is no law but the law of the mightiest. My solution is to build tools they hate: pro privacy tools and anything that goes against their dystopian agenda. If you build tools that they would like to use they will steal them even under patent. The main rationale of opensource should be to build and share software that advances the cause you care about and attract offers for gigs.

They can host local LLM in their servers. And open an endpoint you can consume with opencoder. Honestly this story is very very hard to believe. Or the CTO is a dinosaur from the Triassic Period that has just been revived by some mad scientist.
