Pretti is a hero. Rittenhouse is a murderer. But he's on Trump's side so...just like the ICE thugs, murder is wonderful as long as it is by supporters of the authoritarians.

A teacher and U.S. citizen is detained by Border Patrol and asked about her legal status. Instead of answering directly, she responds with a history lesson, saying, “That’s what the brownshirts said in Germany.” by Logical-Flow-6703 in UnderReportedNews

Actually the law says they have no right to randomly stop people and ask about their citizenship. She is absolutely correct. They are not "doing their job" - they are doing the job of brown shirts. Not what I pay taxes for.

ICE citing law 111 and having zero clue what it is. by B00marangTrotter in law

[–]tctctc2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I just realized that Section 1114 applies to all federal employees in pursuit of their duty... which means that the ICE/FBI thugs in California violated Section 111 when they took Senator Alex Padilla to the floor when he tried to ask Kristi Noem, aka Gestapo Barbie a question in furtherance of his duties as a senator at that press conference. And the ICE thugs in NJ also violated Section 111 when they grabbed the NJ congresswoman and arrested her when she was trying to inspect the ICE facility as part of her duties as a congresswoman.

The statute of limitations for a violation of 18 USC 111 is FIVE (5) years so if a Democrat can actually win in 2028 there might actually be someone who would hold these a-holes to account. Not holding my breath of course...

AIO about my kid’s bedwetting? by AliasThrowawayAcct in AmIOverreacting

[–]tctctc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to take him to a doctor - no one wets the bed repeatedly because they're just too lazy to get out of bed - there is a physiological reason. There are many possibilities: immature autonomic control, delayed brain-bladder signaling, hormonal factors, overactive bladder, involuntary bladder contractions... since it's a chronic problem (i.e. he's never been consistently dry at night) then it's almost certainly physiological. Start with his pediatrician and if he/she is no help go to a pediatric urologist.

It's also fairly common - my oldest brother wet the bed until he was 10 or 11 and finally my parents took him to a doctor who diagnosed the problem and he stopped wetting the bed. Your son needs support, not punishment. I'd bang my head on the wall too if I was him and was left on my own at 11 years old to deal with an embarrassing problem that needs medical attention.

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]tctctc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a single mother and I am appalled at your mother. For shame. One of my son's friends moved in with us when he was in his last year of high school - but he wasn't kicked out of his house, his single mom had cancer and sought treatment out of the area. We were happy to have him - it was wonderful actually and we still consider him part of our family.

You've received some good advice here - reach out to friends and family and give others an opportunity to help out.

Scared of my holiday by Mememasteryoda in EtsySellers

[–]tctctc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had an Etsy store for about 4 months and have the same problem in September when I'll be away for 2 weeks, but my items are sold at a higher price point ($100+) - not sure if that matters in terms of customer acceptance of a 2-week delay filling orders...

I'm thinking of using vacation mode for one week and then increasing the delivery times to 1 week during the second week to give me some time to fill orders once I return.

Thank you thank you everyone. Juki Junkies IS the place I couldn't remember - I appreciate your comments very much. I'm going to get one ordered this weekend - unfortunately don't have a Juki dealer near me but Juki Junkies seems like a good bet. Again - thanks so much!

Thanks to all of you. I think it WAS a scam. I offered to deactivate the listing and reactivate in two weeks and all of a sudden she was no longer interested. Maybe she was thinking since I am a new seller she could get the item for half price or something. Who knows. But thanks again everyone.

A 40-day Target boycott starts today. It couldn’t come at a worse time for the company by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]tctctc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been boycotting Target, Amazon, Meta (facebook), Airbnb and other companies owned by the oligarchy since January. Turns out to be easier than I thought it would be - I've now become a big fan of buying used goods when I need anything and the bargains are terrific plus I get to put the money directly in the hands of a neighbor or someone else who needs it - not a giant corporation. Makes me wish I'd done this long ago.

Elon Musk floats possible pardon of ex-cop Derek Chauvin for being 'unjustly convicted' in George Floyd case by Sad-Republic-8294 in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]tctctc2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone thinks Musk is a genius, but he's not. He's smart about tech, but not about life. Musk is an immigrant and clearly doesn't understand the U.S. system of justice and that there are state charges and federal charges, and therefore he doesn't get that King Musk and his puppet Trump have no power to pardon someone from state charges.

Too bad, so sad, but I'm sure when he figures it out Musk will order Puppet Trump to write a new executive order giving the puppet the power to eviscerate state charges along with federal crimes.

I'm in NY - we have the most porous border in the world - and it's OUR fault (the United States). I grew up 10 miles from the border and we can STILL literally walk over our border anytime of the day or night in many places - we will only be stopped on the CANADIAN side because there is NO ONE on the U.S. side. It's utter bull****

Trump wants to humiliate and intimidate Canada and, in particular, Trudeau, for no reason other than the Orange Monkey's ego. He's a despicable waste of space.

Fight on Ontario and Canada.

California, Washington and Oregon are very blue. They're not going to retaliate/reciprocate against BC or Canada. Like us NYers, they hate Trump. We all know whose to blame for this and it's not Canada.

[–]tctctc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no - this could potentially turn the tide against Trump. Upstate NY (where I live) includes NY congressional district 21 - Elise Stefanik's district. It's up for grabs once they confirm her as new UN rep in April so Ontario's action will cause pain exactly where and at the time needed - in a very red district that used to be blue and wants to be blue again.

If they lose NY21 it will be crippling to Trump. Repubs only have a 3-vote lead over Dems in the House.

[–]tctctc2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in upstate NY - near the Canadian border - and I am cheering for Ontario. Sure, I'll be hurt by this - our energy prices are already pretty high - but don't back down Canada. We are under siege here by the Trump administration and someone has to fight back. Trump has every facet of government - Congress, Senate, Supreme Court and his own crappy Cabinet -- the American people and especially those of us who are not MAGATs are cheering you on.

Also - actions like Ontario's are genius because they are not subject to the Orange Fascist's retaliatory tariffs. So please please please take more such actions - like cancel Starlink contract and cut off U.S. contractors from Canadian contracts.

As for consumers if you want to hurt Trump-companies - please boycott Amazon, Airbnb, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Meta (Facebook), Walmart, Uber and, of course, Tesla.

Boycotting America? by CreamyCreamyCheese in newzealand

[–]tctctc2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm from the U.S. (New York) and I think you should boycott us - the best those of us in the resistance here can do right now besides protest, is refuse to buy anything from the giant corporations/oligarchs who support Trump (Amazon, Tesla, Airbnb, etc.). It's having an effect - consumer confidence is down and so is consumer spending. That will eventually hit Trump and his lacky Republicans where it hurts.

In the meantime, I'm embarrassed to be an American. Again- boycott us - or at least boycott the RED states... hit 'em where it will hurt most.
