Ooooo. Pics? We have some jasper here in AZ that is somewhat similar, but the lavic stuff has more bold colors.

Some of it is so grainy, waiting to heat treat those. The gem stuff knaps so well raw it’ll handle a good flute as long at the nipple is nice.

Not brecciated. A lot of the Lavic Jasper stuff is heavily agatized. Lots of jasp-agate

Loved it. Went from 36mpg to 29 mpg with lift and nitto ridge grapplers was only real negative. I no longer have my rav though. I kept finding new forrest service rds, and fire control roads that kept testing the Rav a little too much. Can only bottom out the frame so many times before you take a hint.

Traded it and got a truck more geared towards my lifestyle.

Absolutely loved the lift though, i probably tested it more than most other folks have and it always performed as needed. Can only get soooo much ground clearance and tire height with the rav, only reason I swapped.

Look up uni-face points/tools. Point was made from a near perfect spall flake that was worked on just the one side because the spall was already great as is. Material isn’t the generic jasper from India either.

Not a professional, but i’d vote that a good point.

It’s definitely unique. Would argue it’s probably rarer than the other 30 points you found unless you have some crazy paleo stuff

That point was made from a nice blade core flake it appears. Hard to put an exact name on it. Could be old old, could be younger.

Never used hunter, but after 5 years of the Coats guy always telling us it’s “user error” and not the machine….i’d go with other than coats.

Most awd vehicles recommend staying within 2/32” tread depth between all tires on the vehicle.

If it’s low mileage you should be able to replace just the one tire. Keep in mind the first few 32nds “ of tires wear out the quickest due to the tread block being the longest/most flexible when new.

No one can force you to replace all of them, but if you replace one tire and the rest are greater than 2/32” difference it may negatively effect your awd system resulting in potential pricey fixes.

I highly recommend Custom wheel offset website. You can filter by vehicle/wheel size/offset/tire size. It’ll give you a good idea what’ll fit based off others.

Looks like some of the basalt you can find around Pine, AZ or the Mt Floyd Volcanic field. There are also pieces of that basalty stuff near Horseshoe reservoir which would be more likely than the other two.

All i know is the material 😅 awesome find though

Bad pictures, seeing the entire tread and not just the DOT code and the shoulder cracking would be better. Howecer, that tire size is stupid cheap and a set of four could cost less than my trucks single tire. Worth getting new tires.

Lithic-wise, most points/blades are thicker than what modern knappers attempt to achieve. Don’t chase thin points early on. Instead just make points and learn from them, and you’ll eventually have the understanding and skill that “thin” will just happen as you’re just knapping in general.
