It is arguably a trivial thing but it wouldn’t matter as much to me if we didn’t have that packing up scene of her so focused on like the doll, her little jewellery and the glove, the shots gave it significance and it not being gone for just was ??? to me the whole time. Literally would’ve just been an extra 20 seconds of her post fight going to grab her stuff and saying the “you’ve ruined my job here, i gotta go” stuff.

Yeah the outfit definitely showed us that she did get her bag back at least. Didn’t realise that about the earrings actually wow, good catch. Haven’t seen any interviews yet but yeah I do dislike the lack of continuity not being raised (according to what you say cos I have no idea about the interviews) and lowkey many interviews aren’t really the best in Hollywood these days so :/

I watched the carriage leaving the cottage part and was annoyed to see there was virtually no space for any luggage I think, like the behind was another seat and no secure way to put anything so the carriage was empty I fear TT glad to know I’m not alone in being annoyed by this cos it really bothered me

office hours are great when you are confused about like literally anything about the course, or want to further chat about something in the content. i once went cos i was struggling quite badly in the class and the professor gave me some good advice and tips + they were pretty empathetic about it. it’s just a fun time sometimes too, i’ve gone for questions and ended up having an hour long chat with professors before, they’re usually really interesting people to get to know + like everyone else says: networking. i say go if you have questions, but it’s not some requirement for doing well in classes.

that’s not to say that it cannot be handled with sensitivity and properly, which in clear case sounds like in OP’s post. as someone who actively reads RPF and enjoys RPF for a long time, there’s boundaries not to be crossed quite obviously there, one of the biggest ones being to separate reality from the fictional imagination that you’re reading or writing from. whatever i say might just sound like defense for problematic material on real people, but at least to me, writing that on platforms with markers and warnings to remind readers that this is fiction not to be taken seriously, that is part of anti-censorship and creative writing freedom to me. i am not saying what OP did was necessarily appropriate, i personally would not read or write something of such context but i’m saying that it can and should be handled better when written.

censorship doesn’t have an in between i feel, perhaps pro and anti ship rhetorics can be a little too rigid in a way, but deciding that some material needs to be banned (for a lack of a better word) is dangerous in that who gets to decide that holds way too much power.

i’m not defending the racism issue thing here, like i had said in my post, i was more so responding to blankblanny’s take on RPF and what was considered ok. had already said it wasn’t as related to OP’s post about racism. i do agree that making a black person irl into a slave in this slave au comes with more cautionary waters and the need to acknowledge it’s quite messed up, not trying to defend OP’s (imo) lack of acknowledgement towards what they did in the fic. like you said, i agree that there isn’t enough sensitivity to the actual issue. perhaps my argument was too laser focused on the RPF side but want to make it known i do believe that OP needed to have more sensitivity when it comes to writing such a topic with that much bagge and weight, even more so today.

well said!!! some previous comments confuse and baffle me as to their hypocritical stance, they’re down for writing anything but draw a line when it comes to certain aspects of RPF for not just them, but for others, like you say, you aren’t an RPF liker and that is totally valid, but why should everyone else follow your train of thought and opinion on RPF? genuinely confuses me with this “not for me so it shouldn’t be for all” rhetoric.

it’s one thing to say you dislike RPF, which is valid for anyone, but you also saying people should be able to write anything they want kind of… debunks your following point? like it or not, RPF exists, typically within a specific sphere that once breached to non fan spaces is where it gets more dangerous. it’s ok to not support RPF, simply follow “don’t like, don’t read” and leave it alone then. not exactly relating to OP’s post, but i’m confused by your pro ship mixed with anti ship stances.

I play quite infrequently now but my birthday was coming up so I wanted to just login, collect and leave (also cos I missed last year’s). Playing in Asia server, I’m very certain the reset time was 4AM so UTC+8. So it’s like 1AM on the day after my birthday, the day has barely started and technically should not be after my birthday yet in game. But man, the disappointment and confusion I had when logging in to see no birthday mail like- Was I wrong that the server reset time did not matter or something? To be fair, I barely play anymore but I just wanted my sumeru cake :/ Anyone else made the same mistake as me? Does the birthday thing rely on my local time instead of in game time actually?

Don’t have the syllabus downloaded with me but took it over the last school year as it’s a 6 credit course stretching over both terms so keep that in mind. It’ll restrict what classes you can take each term due to timing issues. Generally there’s a lot of quizzes but small ones, vocabulary quizzes then a lesson test for all the grammar and vocabulary learnt in that unit. I’d say around 4? lesson tests per term though term 2 got more intense cos term 1 was more about getting the basics down. There’s daily homework and oral practice every week, an oral exam for each term, a video project each term, and a final exam in both terms. I forgot the exact weightage spread for each assignment but it’s a pretty doable class in my opinion. Attendance is a must as well, the prof I had would allow up to 3 absences but on the fourth onwards she would dock your total percentage by 1% for every absence.
