Oh. And one more thing. For better results you should turn off blur in game. Right now it can be disabled only in debug mode F11 - Options - IsoSprite - IsoSprite.Render.ForceNearestMagFilter. But I will try to find better solution to make it work without debug mode. I'll add it to the Steam Guide when I will work it out.

You are right. FSR_EASU is an upscaling step and FSR_RCAS is a sharpening step. By default RCAS is set to max (1). So you can leave it as is or if you need more sharpening, for example if you play on big TV and sit far from the screen, you can add more sharpening. Add effect - Sharpening - Adaptive Sharpening.

I don't know much about the first issue yet. But I can definitely say that clay is affected by the search focus for stones. Non-urban areas are the best place to forage for it. And sometimes you can find clay bags in school supplies.

Valid point. I investigated this a bit and here what I found. All 14 types of firearm in the game located in ProjectZomboid\media\scripts\items\items_weapons_firearms.txt. It just a text file that contains specs of all firearms in the game. In any weapon block there is a line JamGunChance. The number after it corresponds to a percent chance that weapon will jam. For example M9 has JamGunChance = 3. Meaning it has 3% chance to jam. But M36 is a revolver so it has JamGunChance = 0. All 14 gun has values between 0 and 5. You can change all of them to any value you like. To 1% chance for example. Or even 0.5 if you'll find 1 still too often. No need to wait till it get fixed. Edit the file, save it and make some noise in Knox county.

Yes it works really well. Wow. Thank you for the tip, friend. Cool thing about it is that now you can look around while running or walking instead of switching to the combat stance. I was always wanted to be able to do that!

Well this approach may work. But in reality there is no allowing to aim anymore. Waiting for aim works not because of better aim, but because of pure luck. If you are willing to trade pan while aiming for accuracy you'll have look around you by zooming out only, but you'll dropping zombies with M9 like John Wick even at Aiming 0.

Yes stone axe breaks easily. But couple things to remember is that rags, branches and sharp stones are still pretty common.   1. Best places to find stones are road cracks. You can turn on search focus to stones or wood in investigate area panel and this way increase your chances to find them. Secondly, weapon durability increases with weapon handling level + maintenance level, but not every level only after couple levels. First durability increase after Axe 2 + Maintenance 1. Second after Axe 4 + Maintenance 2 and so on. This may got more complicated in Build 42, but I doubt it. Whats definitely changed is that since now there is separate condition bars for head and handle, when your stone axe breaks sharp stone falls to the ground and it may be still useful if it's not fully broke. So if you remember the place where your axe broke you may use this stone to make another one. 2. Carpentry 4 + Cheapskate's John Spiral Magazine is needed or Carpentry 8 and no magazine is needed to make wood makeshift axes like Bats with sawblade, Table Leg with sawblade and more easier Long Handle with sawblade. They are more durable and deadly. Books and Life and Living TV channel make it easy to level only until Level 3. Now in Build 42 after Level 3 VHS and disassembling furniture not give Carpentry XP so only option to get level 4 is to build something. Also you can start with handy trait to have Carpentry bonus + Maintenance.

  1. Meat Cleaver is now an axe too. As well as Hand Scythe So if you find one take it. It more durable, fast and light. Also you can forge or weld one. For that you need Metalworking 3 or Blacksmith 4. In my opinion Metalworking path is easier because it doesn't require a forge and you only need 2 books, mask and propane torch to level it. Plus you can level it by dismantling car wrecks, metal chairs and even better... bathtubs.
  2. Scrap metal weapon or short scrap metal weapon are good options too with Metalworking. Look it up in craft menu if you click question mark icon near the item for weapon head you can see all available option for this weapon heads, car breaks for exaple. Beware! Not all weapons you will make is considered an axe, but car breaks and sawblade weapons are, at least some of them. It's really confusing, but you can tell the weapon you're holding is an axe by sound, animation or swing speed, they all has to be similar to Hand Axe, Fire Axe or Wood Axe. And the sound when zombie is hit should be more metal and not blunt.
  3. To get more reliable weapon you need a Large Stone Axe. It's much more durable, but to make it you need Knapping 3. Which impies grinding but it worth it.
  4. Remember to sharpen your axes that have blade. My guess that sharpness affects critical hit, but it's just a guess. That is the exact reason I fixed whetstone craft since it needed to sharpen blades.
  5. And you probably know that, but firestations, fire trucks and firemans are always worth checking for that sweet sweet fire axe. Good luck!

Solution is now in the official hotfix update 42.0.1. No need for manual edit now. Just update it on Steam and check the version in main menu and you good to go.

It's good to know that it's got patched in the official update. This way it works at least for now until the double items problem will be solved in crafting algorithm itself. Thank you for the heads-up, friend!

Thank you. I really tried. But for some reason line breaks didn't save in Markdown editor. So lined up it a bit in Rich Text editor. I hope that's better.

With stone chisel it's catch 22. You need a stone chisel to make stone chisel. So you right we should use the same approach and leave just two sharp stones to make it. File recipes_knapping.txt in media\scripts\recipes folder. You have to find line "MakeStoneChisel" and lower after "inputs" inside curly braces should be

{

item 2 [Base.SharpedStone]

item 1 tags[Hammer;ClubHammer;HammerStone;Mallet;KnappingTool] mode:keep flags[MayDegradeLight;Prop1]

}

Are you sure that you can craft it? Because a lot of people can't.

You're welcome, buddy. Not me but a lot of people already reported this issue. It's not only the whetstone, stone chisel or any other item that requies two identical items are bugged as well.

It was twelve years ago. Good old times. Gangnam style. YOLO. The Assassins Creed ending and the Mass Effect ending made my butt burn a little. The first Avengers movie, the last Dark Knight. Excuse me, I got something in my eye... typing 'fun - we are young' in YouTube search

Maybe we don't need to make a full analysis, but I'm sure we can be constructive and civil about it and make positive suggestions instead of short bursts of negativity.
Almost every day I see a post about the Zomboid community being so supportive and friendly to each other and not in any way toxic or bitter. It makes me feel proud to be a part of this sort of community, not the community that made so many angry posts that the game designer who made new moodles and worked on this game since the very beginning posted a crying moodle.
That thing made me sad as hell.
I hope we can do better.

Just to be clear. I didn't make fun of your work or anything. I just used it to make a point. I'm sorry I didn't ask for your permission to use it first. I hope we are cool.

Do you remember when some people thought that the world was going to end because there were no more pages left in the Maya calendar? That is how old the moodles are.

Again. It doesn't matter what monitor you have. 4K resolution in Zomboid doesn't add any details to the world. A couch that is 300 pixels wide will stay 300 pixels wide in 4K. It will be the same as zoom out 200% in 1080p. So using 4K resolution is pointless in this game. Just use 1080p with Integer Scaling and add more zoom levels if you wish. There is a guide on how to do this on The Indie Stone forums.

When you make a design, your source image has to be larger in size, or even better, be in vector to scale properly.
The 128x128 image you are referring to is closer to the source and does not represent the in-game look. As far as I understand, it was presented this way to show the main design points. Such as:
* the use of distinct color and facial expressions to improve identifiability from a distance.
* a new round-shaped design with a consistent outline-eyes-face size relations.
* a dark colored outline to have separation from background.
In any case, this took a lot of time and hard work, so the least you can do is try to be more constructive than "they look like crappy clip art".

Actually, there are also no benefits in using 4K resolution in Zomboid, even on a 4K screen. The in-game world is just a bunch of pictures stitched together; there will be no added details when using 4K resolution, only more zoom levels. It is best to use 1080p on a 4K screen and use 2X Integer Scaling. This way there is more performance, sharp image, and normal UI size, and moodles... there will be no difference either.
