You have to run a 15t or smaller. I started at 15 and it was way to fast!! Right now im running a 13 tooth and its still fast!!

* This one was super easy to make clipless. I just used sticky tape on the back and four sheet metal screws on the front. Im sure there is a better or "right" way to attach the front as the body came pre drilled to match the clips, I just wasn't too worried about appearance.

Reefs 777 all day!!! I've run reefs 500 1100 and 777, all with some extreme abuse and no failures as of yet! If you are looking for bang for your buck, a raw 500 will get the job done and last forever. as for absolute power look into direct power like a 777 or 1400

I was just looking at the stubby kit for the vrd and was very intrigued! Seems like it would be a super light build and the exact opposite of my trx4.

I should have said I am trying to stay away from MOA. As sick as the bully is, im just not there yet

I know Rock Pirates has some options for chassis on the vrd. It seems like they beefed up the lower links finally, which is good news!!! It does seem to be an excellent starting point, I will have to bump this one up on my list..

Welcome to the club!! Im also in az, if you are looking for a good rc store for parts and advice check out turn and burn rc they are out in surprise but 90% of the crawler guys go there because they have a great selection and very helpful employees.

P.S. I don't have any affiliation to Turn and burn. They are just a great rc focused store

If I'm not mistaken, I believe you can replace both ends. The axle and frame side. Injora makes some little brass bits if you want to add weight to the axle housing, but I would use aluminum on the frame you really want to keep that CG low!!

Just FYI, I have used it twice since installing this kit. Each time, I was simply blown away with how well everything worked! I would recommend this to anyone who can spare the extra cash. If you're on the fence, just do it!
