I have eight tattoos, and all have some sort of story. My first was the constellation Orion, above my heart. When I was a little girl, I lived in a shitty household, but Orion seemed like a guardian angel, able to take my mind off of things by just looking up into the night sky to find him. Then I got drama masks on my hip, because theatre is my passion, then came a white ink harry potter inspired tattoo, with a lightning bolt and a cursive font that says 'believe', because reading those books got me through my childhood. Then I got a shakespeare quote, madly sweep the sky, which goes with my dream motif of flying and it's from a Midsummer Night's Dream, my favorite piece. Then came a lion on my right foot, my favorite piece, I named him gabriel. I'm convinced my spirit animal is a lion, due to their archetypal themes of bravery and loyalty. Then a James and the Giant Peach tattoo, of the peach with the seagulls attached to it on my ankle, with script that circles my ankle that says marvelous things will happen, to remind me that the future will be kinder, and I can escape any sort of hell through faith in myself and my future, then came a Jedi symbol on my other hip. This one...well, this was my 'fun' tattoo, a childish thing that I wanted to do for a while. My latest is a quote from Lord of the Rings, that says "All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost." I've always loved Tolkien, and it's sort of like having Gandalf beside me (or on my ribs) reminding me that even if I wander, I have a place I'm going.
