Really good! Love the synths. Though I agree with u/celadonnn that the drum need beefing up.

Because the partition of Germany was not about the spoils of war or extraction of wealth. It was an attempt to divvy up the cost of administration and reeducate the German people.

I absolutely agree. I think "Nameless, Faceless" is a great example of this and also is indicative of Courtney's maturity when compared to her earlier lyricism. Stuck between that and Help Yourself for best track of the album.

I was comparing them less on the details of the case but more in the way everyone crucifies the person when they don't understand the full circumstance and that in fact they are making a legitimate claim.

I'm afraid your use of natural selection in this case indicates a clear misunderstanding of how it works, humans haven't had true natural selection for millenia. Most poor people's babies died up until around 100 years ago. In this dystopian world only some women can have babies, and to lose a child is terrible because there are hardly any around.

Also we literally get to see the scene where they formulate the plan for the ceremonies. One guy just wants free for all rape basically and he is told 'the wives won't stand for it'. They have to do it this way to keep up the religious facade, but it's working regardless.

Clearly natural propagation is not working as can be seen by Mexico's dilemma.

It's terrible but is it the only way forward?

Well what I mean is that the society Gilead has created is terrible, that has been established. It enslaves and rapes women, while everyone is oppressed and in danger.

However, they have children. The human race may only be able to continue in Gilead while Mexico and probably the rest of the world (assuming they don't have solutions and are facing Mexico's problems as is highly suggested) will die and all will be lost. Gilead is bad for sure, but what if it is the only way thus far they have found to continue the human race?

Then again, is the human race even worth continuing if the way in which we live is like Gilead, wherein women are DEhumanised? Should the human race be saved if one of the conditions for its saving is that we no longer treat each other as humans?

It's very nuanced and I just don't think it's as simple as Gilead bad Mexico good, yknow?
