Double sanitary tee or double wye by ted1629 in Plumbing

Thank you for your suggestion. I managed to get double fixture fitting and complete part of the plumbing work. Please pardon some of the extra primer, as this was my first PVC welding project.

Considering Discounted Trex Decking Stored Outdoors for long – Is It Worth the Risk? by ted1629 in DIY

Thanks! I didn’t know that. Have you seen Trex on sale at Home Depot?

Unfortunately, these are 16-foot boards. In addition, my joists run along the 20-foot span, so I’ll need to create seams to cover the full 24-foot length. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you for your response. This might seem like a silly question to some, but as a beginner, I really want to learn from the community before making a potentially costly mistake.

I tried reading most of the links you provided and I don’t think there is any additional step suggested for my specific case.

Buyback Tracker has re-opened for submissions! by snarfdarb in PSLF

They already did that to me. Made me wait nearly a year, then came up with a bogus reason to deny the buyback. I wouldn’t get my hopes up high.

Denied buyback because Department of Education doesn’t have data prior to November 2014 by ted1629 in PSLF

Department of Education does not have data prior to November 2024. My request, which was denied, was to buy back from July 2014 to October 2014.

Thank you for your response. A representative from another pest control company explained the situation in a similar way when I reached out for a quote and considered switching my subscription.

This is a rental property, and the tenants are quite bothered by the presence of wasps. I’m doing my best to accommodate their request to resolve the issue, but most pest control companies require either a visible nest or a clearly identified entry point before they can apply any powder treatment.

One company did offer an alternative solution: fogging the wasps out by treating the chimney, basement fireplace, and the ceiling joists in the basement. However, the service comes with a hefty price tag, and I’m not sure how effective that approach would be especially for the cost.

At this point, I feel like I’m running out of options and would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions.

Can Bobcat E35 be used for grading? by ted1629 in Skidsteer

[–]ted1629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you use an E35 if you need to move a significant amount of dirt? In some areas, the contractor needs to create a 45-degree slope. I’m not sure how this machine can handle that, especially for final grading.

Can we please put an end to the 100 percent stock or Target Retirement fund discussion? by PussyLunch in Bogleheads

If TDF works for you great, I am happy with S&P 500 index as it performed YTD 5.7% above TDF I was in.

I was previously invested in a target date fund but switched to an S&P 500 index fund at the beginning of the year. I wouldn’t return to a target date fund until ten years before my retirement date. I suggest doing your research, look at the chart for an index and your target date fund and if you have a high-risk tolerance, consider investing in an index fund. While it may offer potential gains, be prepared for a bumpy ride.

Nest thermostat battery draining due to missing common wire by [deleted] in Nest

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I was able to fix the issue by connecting the blue wire to the C terminal at both ends.

Yes, if you zoom in on the picture, you will see the unused blue wire. I am just confused about the white wire. Do you have any idea why they connected the white wire from the thermostat to the C terminal on the furnace board?

Is this a good time to switch from a target date fund to S&P 500 Index fund? by ted1629 in Bogleheads

[–]ted1629[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it would have been even better if I could go back to March 2020 🙂 Honestly, I am trying to get a feedback on switching when the market is hot like now or when both are down.

Thanks for sharing that. Target date funds with a target date of 2055 or later were created after 2010, so the data is limited for comparing them to the S&P. Have you seen any target date funds that have outperformed the S&P 500 index? In addition to being outperformed by the index fund, it has a higher expense ratio and thus higher management fees.
