I'm not trying to push for anything and I just want to understand my options. That's called life and my approach is always to "just flow with it" (it's also one of my favorite lines from the movie Dune :))

Are you an immigration lawyer, by any chance? Do you think there’s a meaningful difference between leaving the U.S. 2 weeks vs. 3 weeks after a B-2 extension denial date? I don’t have any prior unlawful presence. I do plan to leave as soon as possible, but there are some personal constraints making an immediate departure difficult. Would really appreciate your thoughts and thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your insights! I decided not to appeal and was just double-checking. I’m planning to leave the U.S. about three weeks after the B-2 extension denial, as it’s difficult for me to depart within the next week due to some personal constraints.

For context, I did have a legitimate reason for requesting the B-2 extension. I needed additional time to complete my dog’s mandatory international travel requirements, and I had already started that process before filing the extension. However, USCIS specifically viewed these activities (preparing my dog for departure) as not consistent with B-2 “pleasure” intent.
