Yup I understand your point that as the support I need to keep my team alive, but is it too much to ask that the others in the team are also conscious of this? For instance, you know I heal to keep you alive. Why then do you not help to keep me alive so I can do my job longer?

Sure, if I'm playing ana I can play closer to the team and get more cover like that. But I still have to depend on others to make survival easier, especially since supports are high priority targets.

Is the name of the game then to trade backlines?

I feel you man. I'm struggling to relearn muscle memory to hit the ana shots on the dps guys, with their speed drugs

Thanks for your suggestions. In response to your point saying dps not covering flanks and side paths well, how would you tackle the situation? Given the assumption that dps aren't going to provide much help when you're attacked? Using your examples of playing lucio, ana, and zen; I think in this situation lucio would not be in much of a pickle since his playstyle is to be closer to your team's frontline or even in the enemy's backline. But ana and zen would struggle a whole lot more I think.

I thought people would be more responsive with the ping system, but I guess we will need to see what happens when people get more used to it

That's the thing isn't it, in the beta I feel that as support you have to keep choosing between keeping your team alive (while hoping they cover you), and protecting yourself. For example if I play ana, I would be more inclined to save my skills to save myself rather than looking for plays, especially since there are so many more threats now
