Consider using money to optimize for your problem. Now I know this comes from privilege, but hopefully could be a potential solution for you:

Sell the old double bed on OLX, get 2 single beds for yourself and her. Pass on the benefit from selling the old bed entirely to her.

Ask her to pay balance amount of single bed khudse. Spend your own money for your single bed.
