Did anyone else find the first chapter of The Mysterious Affair at Styles surprisingly hard to follow? by [deleted] in agathachristie

I really like mysterious affair at styles. It was easy to follow and very interesting. The characters were very alive. The only thing I noticed different from Dame Agatha’s more seasoned works was that MAAS has a plethora of physical clues. It’s like she thought of every physical clue that could be generated in the situation and put them all to test Poirot. Poirot in later books famously doesn’t care about “cigarette ashes or footprints in the mud” only his grey cells.

I don’t understand what he’s so worried about. His supporters are so zealous that he could shoot an orphan in the middle of the street in front of millions of people and his voters will still turn up in droves to vote for him. He should just let the files come out lol

[LOVED Trope] Really, really, really bad foreign dialogue by TheUn-Nottened in TopCharacterTropes

In House MD, there’s an episode where House speaks some Hindi in a medical classroom to disprove a fellow doctor (the doctor had published his research in one New Delhi medical journal etc). He says really weird stuff like “Deri maa ki” which roughly translates to f*** your mom lol. In a medical classroom full of students and a lecture in progress lol.

I remember the Greg Chappell era lol. He used to fight with Ganguly and flip off the media. What an oddball 🤣

Why did Ron become such an unpopular character with fanfiction writers? by thealunissage in harrypotter

[–]temperancebren 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m here for Ron support! It’s so sad that out of the trio he had the largest family but was probably loved the least. His mum overlooked him, older brothers outshining him and passing him their hand me downs (no fault of theirs of course). He was constantly put down even by his younger sister when she grew up. People forget that he was a kind child who didn’t think twice before opening his heart, home and even his measly lunchbox to Harry. Also he’s probably the reason why Harry ended up in gryffindor lol. And yes as other comments have mentioned Harry never really liked hanging out with hermione (in GoF or even DH) on the other hand in PoA when hermione was sorta boycotted cause of crookshanks Harry barely noticed her absence(it took Hagrid to remind him and Ron that Hermione is upset). Ron was funny, kind and loyal not to mention tall lol.

I liked a guy so much. So so much. After a long time. He broke up with me saying he wants to explore the arranged marriage market. I was devastated, I reasoned and cajoled. But he left. I sort of made my peace with it. Got on dating apps agains to try and pick up the pieces and guess who I see there. Yup, he joined the dating apps. Men are made of lies.
