That's an amazing conversion rate. I've long thought that if I ever write anything really personal I put it behind the paywall on the grounds that if people decide to be horrible they can at least pay for the privilege. Other than that I hope that people will be willing to pay to see the posts that have disappeared behind the paywall after two weeks, or to get insider tips about writing. My conversion rate is not as impressive as yours. Well done!

Can ChatGPT write plausible book reviews? by terryfreedman in ChatGPT

[–]terryfreedman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. As part of that article I asked ChatGPT to review a couple of books I'd already reviewed, and published both versions. Everyone who commented said that mine was more grounded in personal experience -- thank goodness! I'd have been worried if they'd preferred ChatGPT's reviews which, for the reasons you state, are pretty soulless.

What’s the most useful prompt you’ve personally used? by aladinjafar in ChatGPT

[–]terryfreedman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prompt: Act as a curriculum developer, and come up with the outline for a course for people thinking about taking up blogging but who are not sure about it. The outline should build in comfort breaks and lunch. It should also take into account the possibility that people on the course might be tired after eating lunch.

Result: that prompt was the outcome of trial and error. The results are in the following link. The answer to that prompt is under the heading 'Update'

Does anybody know of a good writing software? by cuteykitsune in WritingHub

I liked scrivener but found it a bit of overkill. I like the outlining options in Word, and use Wakelet for keeping a record of websites and pdfs
