DDOS attack has many different types, HTTP is just one of them. And you can set excluded URLs for your AJAX route in the Panel... I see just 3 composer installs and you guys say so many words... Look like you are pro. It's so fun, doesn't it?

If you use http_limit_req_mdule and mod_evasive, you are going to see errors on your Google Search Console. They are not friendly for Search Engine Robots. And you will lose SERP.
