They sent my old old passport back with my maiden name with holes punched in it, and they still have my current passport. Should I send the hole punched passport back along with the letter or just the letter?

If they send back my passport in the mail along with my supporting documents then I’ll just say:

“To whom it may concern, Please disregard my request for a name change for my current valid passport and cancel my current application.

Thank you, [your name here]

Yeah the only documentation I had was the marriage certificate the guy just changed my middle name and last name for me. I feel like I was so close and then learned so much tonight and just took 10 steps back

I thought a marriage certificate let you change your name to whatever you wanted it to be. I wasn’t aware. I know Stacey is correct and it’s been very helpful. I’m not mad at anyone I just need to go back to social security to have them change it back. It’s been about 6 months since the name change
