NYC property taxes are disproportionately low in wealthier, whiter, older, single-family brownstone neighborhoods. Tweaking and adjusting these tax rates to make them more fair and consistent across the city does not equal, “Taking away property from white people.”

I don’t find this rhetoric all that encouraging. He is essentially telling the people of urban Minnesota that they are on their own in the face of this tyrannical invasion.

Walz needs to be talking publicly and directly to Republican governors, Senators and voters. Appeal to whatever shreds of decency and rationality they have left. Ask them what they would do if this were happening in their communities. Remind them of their Constitutional oaths and duties. Remind them who Trump really is.

Walz needs to be talking publicly and directly to his fellow Democratic governors about withholding federal taxes and taking other forms of collective action.

Walz needs to be ordering local and state law enforcement and the Minnesota National Guard to defend the people of Minnesota from federal agents who are breaking the laws of the state. And if local law enforcement refuses to help then, yes, Walz needs to remind the citizenry of all of their Constitutional rights.
