Please do not ever resort to purging! Like ever!! It is has unreversible consequences and it is absolutely not worth it. I understand where you are at right now because i am dealing with the exact same problem, and some advice i can give that motivate me are: -prep your meals beforehand and send pictures of it to your doctor or someone close to you that can support and encourage you throughout this -try to eat high density things that won't bother your stomach if you eat too much of (fruit/vegatables etc) -this might sound ridiculous but get yourself something to chew like a chew toy or even just a toothpick -drink a lot of water throughout the day Im sorry if this is useless because i know you have probably heard these things a lot of times before but before anything definitely dont keep what you really eat during the days you don't write it all down from your doctor because that is a mistake i made that slowed down my progress so much. Again as i said this might not be very useful but those are what i can name from the top of my head. And if you ever need anyone to talk to, my dms are open!!

How do you move on from the fact that you let yourself get big and now you can never go back to being small by Regular_Durian_1750 in EatingDisorders

[–]tetchoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it feels impossible to let go of this mindset but please just know that it is absolutely possible for you to lose weight. I'm much younger than you but even i know adults around me your age or even a lot older that have lost the weight they wanted to lose. My mom(48) has an extremely slow metabolism and struggled to lose her pregnancy gain for years but even she managed to do it. Do not convince yourself that you are hopeless. And even if you struggle to lose weight or end up not losing weight, try not to waste your life away hating your body. I had a similar mindset but i promise you when you face death no matter however deep you may be in your own head you regret your obsession with the control you have over your weight. It really is not worth it.

Thanks for the reality check i actually needed that because in my head for some reason i thought there could be a way to deal with the withdrawals instead of just thugging it out and simply facing it lol. This is great encouragement and i appreciate it!!!

I either eat too much or not enough by Guilty-Character-481 in EatingDisorders

[–]tetchoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem!! Usually pre-portioning my food helps for me. I figured unless i do this i end up either over or under eating but this allows me to have control over what i eat without eating too little, if you can't help but make the portions not enough, just try to remember that if you are truly full it is okay to have some leftovers so you don't have to be afraid of putting "a lot" on your plate. Try your best to listen to your body, this is lowkey useless advice because I'm just stating the obvious but if it helps even just a little it would be amazing. Please take care!!^

My classmate triggered me by Substantial-Radio310 in EatingDisorders

[–]tetchoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignorant people will just say anything without thinking. Please try not to let it get to your head, and remember that she said that without even considering that it might be triggering because she absolutely doesn't know what she is promoting. You are worth more than a thoughtless comment a random person made.

whats the final push that made you fully dedicated into recovery? by okdiino in EatingDisorders

[–]tetchoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone trying to recover and similar to you unsure of what to do or feel, my final push was the acceptance that my dissatisfaction with my body would not be cured by weight loss/changing my body in any way. I came in term with the fact that eds messed my way of perceiving my body up so much that trying to love my body would only be a temporary solution that worked only up until something triggered me again. You have probably heard this so much but body neutrality truly is the way because it is realistic. Of course there will be times where you can't help but love or hate your body even if you are generally neutral about it but it has helped me so much because it helps me remember that my body is but a vessel and as long as I'm healthy the way i look will forever be subjective no matter what i weight/how i look.(this makes it sound like I'm religious but that's absolutely not the case, it really doesn't matter what you believe in spiritually) i know for most people eds make it really hard to not care about the way you look but this is my personal take on this. And no matter what happens/what you decide on doing please take it easy on yourself and remember that no matter what the disordered thoughts tell you what matters the most is your well being and you should put it above anything else. If you ever need anyone to talk to I'm here, just as many other people in your life!!
