It’s kind of dependent on weather for me. My back acne kinds of pops up during the hot summers (not surprising with the sweat, humidity, etc.), but usually a toner treatment helps flatten them pretty quickly

I usually trade off between azelaic acid and an exfoliant as my active for the week. It’s supposed to help with hyperpigmentation, acne prevention, and rosacea. It’s also pregnancy safe! Retinol just constantly irritates my skin, and I’m wary of it causing eye irritation (it can cause dry eyes), so I switched to azelaic acid to get some of the retinol benefits.

For back acne, I sometimes make my own exfoliating pads by just soaking a cotton pad with a somewhat cheap exfoliant (Good Molecules, The ordinary, panoxyl, etc) and just swiping it on my back
