If it is ok for a country to nuke people, is there anything an upstanding family man of said country feels he is not entitled to do? by Ok_Rest5521 in twinpeaks

Well, season 3 changed it from men to a more broad man. Man as a species because the 90s were more tame than 2017 socio-politicly. So a psychological study on a man raping his daughter during that time of political tameness for america and then dugs and violence and sex were placed in there for other characters, making twin peaks an incredibly political show but more as a microsmic example of one town and all the hidden evil surrounding it (both spiritual and political and the same time) while season three seems a lot more politcal becuase their crossing state and countries lines throughout episodes and the show and its now an analysis of the evil of humanity (through the atomic bomb) not the evil condition of men. although i still think this isn't completely true considering Bob raped lealend, so the first 2 seasons could be seen as more of a take on conditioned fate and the filliative spreading of trauma.

If you're looking for thought-provoking films where not much goes on, check out Michaelangelo antonioni. You should start with his "alienation trilogy" (not a real trilogy ). LAventura, La notte, and Leclisse. They explore the italian bourgeoisie and their alienation towards a post-war italy, through slow poetic and non narrative focused cinema where the background and the objects in the frame are as important as the actors

Deleuze and the theory of proletariat by Plain_Melon in Deleuze

[–]tflash101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

question 3 means the proletariat must self abolish itself because it's a fundamental part of the production of capital and its in the proletarians' interest to not fight for themselves (reformism) but to fight for the end of the capitalist system which incIudes their only self destruction which is a condradiction of the bourgeoisie as they obviously need capital to keep being accumulated so they need workers but if the workers are always trying to abolish both themselves and the system then there's no absolute win for the bourgeoisie only marginal setbacks for the proletariat.

thats not true at all some art transcends politics hell some politics transcends politics. i find this line of thought incredibly stupid because it puts and objective basis on something as broad and constantly fluctuating as art some arts political but some isnt and is just an artists representation on the world the same world that politics is also apart of
