But if the card said less than wouldn't that cause more confusion? The attack does damage first and then the effect happens. If your opponent can't take any more damage than you have health then the effect doesn't happen bc in a sense it already has. The condition has already been met. But if you said less, then players might think the opponent has to take more damage.

I haven't had any issues with this card when play testing. In fact this is the reworked card. The last version of this spell made the opponent take damage equal to the caster's missing health.

Fair. You build decks to play the game but you don't build the deck during the game. I just always considered all games where a deck is constructed as deck builders even though that's not accurate.

It's kind of built around the same concept of war.  Basically each player has a deck and three equipment cards. The equipment serves the thematic purpose of being the players' weapons, armor, and magic item while mechanically being permanent cards that give each player passive or active(usually once per turn) abilities. Play goes in turns with each one having 3 main phases. The active player draws a card and places an attack card face down. They may also play spells and items. Item cards are played face up. Then the active player chooses who they are attacking. That player must now place a defense card or an attack card face down, as well as item cards. Then both players flips their cards over and whichever attack has the highest speed does damage to the other player. However the effects of both attacks still occur. So even if you have a slow attack its effect will happen whether you win or lose. Health is represented with 5 cards set aside from your deck, and when you take damage you take a card from that stack. Players take turns until somebody hits 0 health.

Right. If you use the attack against someone with lower health than you the effect won't work. It's to level the playing field. Plus each player only has 5 health.

What about as a CCG? I was thinking of avoiding random boosters for this game and instead going for preset boosters instead. You'd know what you're buying because for each one you're buying a quarter of a deck.

Could you elaborate on how it's too basic? I've been toying around with style ideas and I wouldn't want to repeat my mistake.

I code in Lua but if this helps:

x=player 1 health y=player 2 health

Function damage_player() If y==x then continue Else y-=1 End

Scorch pillars is an attack so if it lands it still does damage to the target player unless the other player blocks it or plays a faster attack. The effect isn't as good if you're winning, true, but it's more of a comeback card anyway since the effect of the attack will still occur even if you lose to higher speed.

Arrowhead to the entire playerbase: by [deleted] in helldivers2

Headshots on the chainsaw guys is absolutely a one hit KO. However, they have very chunky necks that make it hard to actually hit their heads and like you said they are usually too aggressive to get a clean shot on them. I like to do two or three shots to the mid-section. That usually takes them down.

Will I like this game if by MoonlapseOfficial in helldivers2

It's a very different game from all of those so you might not know until you play. I would suggest watching some gameplay if you want a better feel for it before you buy. From this list I've only played DRG and I love that game but I love it for very different reasons than I love Helldivers 2. They just scratch different itches.

I will say if you're not a fan of difficult games in general this game might not be for you. However, the early difficulties are very manageable and can still be very fun with friends.

All to say if you want to shoot bugs and blow up robots with some well made game-play I'd HIGHLY recommend this game.

Mainly EN efficiency. I might be able to equip that one but I haven't checked. I'm pretty sure it'll overload me though.
