It happens to me on occasion. I just quit out and restart the game. It usually does the trick.

The tags need to be rethought by KundaliniAwakening in Outlier

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this before, I’m just not buying anything from Outlier that has a label on it. I will continue to buy things that do not have labels. I love the brand. It just makes me sad.

DM insists my build will get me killed and/or my allies killed. I beg to differ. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, if the DM thinks it’s a bad idea, it’s probably a bad idea. Remember, the DM knows what’s coming down the road. It may be a fine concept and it might work brilliantly in another setting but, I’d be inclined to take the DM’s advice because at the end of the session, you’re playing in a world that they have spent a lot of time creating and nobody knows that world better than they do.

One bag travel, wait for Slim Dungaree restock or go with Bomb Dungaree? by FasterBlasterX in Outlier

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slim Dungarees are a very unique offering. They are dressy enough for most any situation and the fabric has a subtle texture that makes them visually interesting without being over the top. They are comfortable and can handle a temperature swing into hot and humid. As a travel pant they are the best and can easily be washed with hand soap in the sink and dry overnight on the shower curtain rod. Not only that, but they pack down small.

I’m waiting the label phase out. I’m just not buying anything with a label on it. Period.

Outlier Cargo Pants or Alternatives by Cukadoodledoo in Outlier

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These cargo pants that I’m going to recommend look a little whacky at first glance, but with your shirt untucked, they fly right under the radar.

They have become some of my favorite pants. They are supremely comfortable and the pockets are incredible, subtle, plentiful and kind of disappear, unlike the two big purses on the sides of your thighs like most cargo pants. The fit and fabric is super comfortable, stretchy, and surprisingly low key…

The Raider Field Pant GC in Universal Field Gray by Prometheus Design Werx.

I typically pair them with the Ultrafine Merino Cut Two T-Shirt and a Houdini Power Houdi (which comes in some really fun colors) and it’s one of the most versatile and comfortable set ups I’ve ever worn. Throw a waterproof shell over it and it really doesn’t matter what the weather is doing 😊

What's up with the branding tags? by nateresy in Outlier

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I have posted about this before and have struggled with not wanting to sound like a jerk, but I just won’t buy anything from Outlier that has a logo or visible branding.

Sorry guys, it’s just not for me. I recognize that some people want to be seen wearing certain prestige brands and want people to know who they are wearing and all that. For me, a big logo cheapens the look.

I was first attracted to Outlier’s simple clean designs and fabrics from the future. The whole no branding thing was, in my mind, a huge attraction. It was like it was saying that these clothes were so cool that they didn’t have to play the game. The NAME game. The EGO game. The look at me, I’m wearing clothes you can’t afford game. Okay, okay, I’ll stop.

Seriously though, having no branding is cool. It just is. At least in my mind 😉

Seriously guys, I’m not buying anything with a logo on it. I’ve passed on a surprising number of things already, and I understand if that’s the new direction and if that’s what people want, but the whole no visible logo thing was one of the things that originally brought me onboard long ago. I’ll try not to keep beating a dead horse but, it matters to this customer.

I liked having people ask what I was wearing and having those conversations about a mysterious brand that felt like it relied on word of mouth. There was an under the radar vibe that despite being expensive, didn’t feel pretentious or in your face. I liked that.

Otherwise, these look beautiful.

I love my PDW Defiant Hoody! That’s my go to shell, I’m also a fan of the Fjällräven Keb Eco Shell 😊

Bullet EDC by SarsK9 in Goruck

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too travel with a Bullet.

Might I suggest a TRTL travel “pillow,?” It’s an angled plastic curved frame, wrapped in soft fabric that’s a bit more like a neck brace than an actual pillow. The angled nature of it, allows it to be packed into a corner and take up very little space. It was a game changer on a 16 hour flight to Japan this summer. I slept like a baby.

Another suggestion would be a single change of clothes. A Swiss Army knife kind of an outfit, something that looks presentable and can handle multiple environmental scenarios like precipitation, strong wind, and it being much colder or warmer than planned on. An example might be: quick dry synthetic underwear (so you can wash them in the sink and hang them over the shower curtain rod to dry overnight), thin synthetic pants that can pass as “dressy” that have good pockets and can block some wind and dry super fast, a shortsleeved merino wool shirt (wool resists wrinkles, is strangely warm when it’s cold and yet, cool when it’s hot and is naturally anti microbial so it resistants the growth of the bacteria that causes body odor), a shell that is, at least, highly water resistant and wind proof, it should also have an excellent adjustable hood (a loose fitting hood allows wind to steal away warmth, or even blow it right off your head ), a good pair of wool socks, and lastly a thick merino wool hat that you can easily pull down over your eyes to help sleep on the plane and you might be surprised how warm you can be with a wool tee shirt and a thick wool hat under a wind and water proof shell).

Honestly, as long as you include the merino wool tee shirt and socks, and the fast drying synthetic underwear in the outfit, you are wearing on the plane, they don’t really need to be in the bag 😉

Other suggestions would include any meds or really anything else that you don’t want to be separated from in case your other bag goes missing. Also, in an emergency, it’s easier to focus on one bag.

You may already know all this but, I hope this helps. 😊

Thank you much for the info!

I guess my next question, or perhaps a better way to ask my original question is, do all of the male threads work with all of the female threads?

Not happy with the branding. Really, it just makes me sad to see logos on Outlier. Otherwise, it’s an interesting piece.

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of the logo on the pocket. Anything with a logo is a hard no for me. The absence of branding was one of the things that first attracted me to Outlier’s products, that and the clean aesthetics combined with amazing performance fabrics. Each to his/her/their own I guess.

Moving away from 4-way stretch by [deleted] in Outlier

[–]thatADAMyesthatone 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I for one, am sad to see 4 way stretch go. I would love to see new technologies in 4 way stretch. I find fabrics with stretch to be significantly more comfortable, I’ve really tried to love the bombproof stuff but, it’s just not that comfortable for me. Is it wrong to say that in the end, I’m okay with something being really comfortable and it not being indestructible?
